I would use any other post office and there are several in the area to use. This is a grubby little office with slow service usually. The clerk has come back from lunch late while you wait for them to re-open. No apology. The worst is when they don't recommend a cost saving measure to the customer. I won't use this office again.

Best post office on the planet. If you think the ‘woman’ should be fired, perhaps you need to look in the mirror

Ok- We're those people that have been visiting Mohonk as over night guests for almost 30 years. LOVED it. The setting is magical. We did not mind the price because it was so special and we loved our rooms (we've stayed in pretty much every kind they offer)- the fireplaces, the views, the amenities. We went up last fall as day trippers and were shocked by the throngs of people clogging the place- that includes us I guess. It was like Disneyland. We just spent Sunday and Monday there and were so disappointed. The place was once again jammed to the rafters. The food lines for the buffet (more on that in a minute) was like a stampede. The buffet dinner is the new offering they are touting. It was probably one of the worst meals we've ever had. Just bad handling of the great local ingredients. Vegetables steamed to mush and mashed potatoes like library paste. Breakfast was not much better. At these prices, I expect a better dining experience. Not looking for Michelin here. Just professional, thoughtful cooking. We did not even go near the spa. The crowds were just too daunting. The staff seems overwhelmed just keeping up with the amount of people they are dealing with at check in and check out. I really am sad to say I don't think we will be going back again. Times change and that is good in so many ways. It just feels like the pride and care the Smiley family put into providing this experience has been replaced with the take at the door.

We just wrapped up a weekend at the Mohonk Mountain House and absolutely loved it! My wife and I went with a group of people. Here are my tips if you plan on going there (and you should!). 1) Talk to registration in advance about your room; they are NOT all the same. Some rooms have fireplaces, others have balconies. Some rooms are small, others are bigger. Some rooms have views of the lake; others have views of the mountains. (2) Bring good shoes for hiking! The trails are incredible We went up to the Skytop Tower and the views are amazing. There are 8-10 small gazebos along the way where you can sit and enjoy the view. Other paths will take you around the lake, through a labyrinth and a garden maze. (3) Book a spa service or pay for access to the spa ($40/day). It's expensive but worth the price in my opinion. You have access to a sauna, steam, outdoor jacuzzi and lounge chairs for reading/relaxing. (4) Meals are either buffet or a la carte (we did buffet). The buffet is good to very good. (5) There are no TVs in the room (which I loved). It's a unique opportunity to relax, clear your mind, and rejuvenate your body. I will definitely go back again.

This place was my wife Ruth's choice- she felt I needed a few days of relaxation and I thank her for that. This resort was the perfect place for some relaxation. The resort is huge- with acres and acres of forest land to explore- hills, valleys and plenty of trees with gorgeous colored leaves. They even have a rock tower on the top of a hill, that was fun to hike up to and explore. While spending time outside is ideal, the rooms of the hotel were also just as nice. Nothing real fancy, but a well appointed room. The building of the hotel is older, well maintained and honestly, reminds me of a cruise ship.Since meals are included in the rate, food is important.I can safely say that the food was delicious and the service is excellent. That goes for breakfast, lunch and dinner- all were delicious and enjoyable. All in all, we had a very relaxing weekend, with delicious meals and beautiful scenery.
