The Gray Barn is an excellent place, and is conveniently located at the entrance of the renowned Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, which is home to over 400 rescued animals. The Gray Barn is beautifully modern and its decor, toiletries, coffee/teas, photographs, etc. are all perfectly aligned with their animal liberation views, and their vegan and earth-friendly values - down to the last detail. We enjoyed being able to walk the sanctuary grounds during our stay for free, just be sure to wear your Gray Barn lanyard (available at the front door) to ensure sanctuary staff know you’re permitted to walk around. The delicious, flavorful homemade breakfast made by Rena was to die for! She is seriously an amazing cook!! If you have the chance and the means, please, PLEASE stay at The Gray Barn! You won’t be disappointed!! I truly hope that I’ll be back to spend more time one day!

I recently stayed at The Gray Barn with my partner and friends, and I can't say enough about our experience. The accommodations are beautiful and the sanctuary is so special. We learned so much on the sanctuary tour and loved getting to know the animals a bit (and giving scratches, especially to Tara the goat!). Every staff member was so friendly, and the vegan breakfast each morning was delicious (thank you Rena!). Highly recommend staying here and supporting the sweetest animals. Can't wait to return!

Within the first hour of staying here we were already planning our next trip back! While I thought I knew the sanctuary well from years of wanting to come stay and looking at lots of photos and videos, the beauty of this place absolutely blew me away! The view from every angle in The Gray Barn is incredible, I literally saw a bald eagle soar by after 10 mins of sitting in the back yard of the inn! I can’t explain the absolute peace we felt staying here, and all the other guests said the same thing! We loved connecting with the other guests around the table at breakfast, and talked about how impactful the private tour from the night before was over the MOST impressive vegan breakfast spread by Rena, who made us feel so welcomed! You can tell each person who works at Woodstock Sanctuary is so passionate about this work and the respect they have for the animals is unmatched. I loved listening to how well the tour guides know each animal and their needs, and there’s 400 animals to care for! Their work is so inspiring and I can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I had a really lovely time here for two nights. The room and bed were comfortable and the breakfast each morning was filling and delicious. I forgot the hospitality coordinator's name, but she was super helpful and friendly. She made the breakfast, cleaned the rooms and helped us book our stay and organize our tour of the sanctuary. Thanks so much to her and the staff that run this amazing place. We hope to visit again soon! I've been vegetarian for decades, but our stay has convinced me to go vegan.p.s. If you're reading this, please help protect the innocent by not supporting factory farms ♥️????♥️

If you are vegan, love animals, and a quiet and peaceful environment then The Gray Barn is a cannot be missed experience. Rena and Anna were wonderful hosts. Rena prepared a wonderful vegan breakfast every morning. Anna took us on a private tour of the sanctuary.Rooms: Simple yet elegantNearby activities: Plenty of places to go within a relatively short driveFood & drinks: Great vegan breakfast and plenty of restaurants within driving range with vegan options

There is nowhere else like this on earth. It is heaven for guests and heaven for the animals. Thank you for giving me a sanctuary which is representative of what the world should be!

This is a wonderful spot in a quiet, rural portion of Eastern Upstate New York. My partner booked a two night stay for us, including a tour of the sanctuary. I admit that I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but The Gray Barn far exceeded anything I might have expected. It is far from a "barn" in any traditional sense. The building is basically brand new, constructed in 2019. The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable. There isn't a TV to be found in the whole building, but I think that fits with the setting. Instead, each 2nd floor room comes with its own balcony space to overlook the natural area the farm sanctuary sits in, with guests given free reign to roam the grounds and commune with the animals it houses. As a B&B, a delicious, freshly made vegan breakfast is of course included, which will fuel you well for whatever you have planned for the area.Whenever we decide to come back and visit the area again, this spot will be on our short list of places to stay!
