My account was canceled for an unknown reason. When I inquired about it, no additional details were provided. The response I received stated that, “I did not get services since Dec. 5”, now my tank is almost empty. When reviewing my emails about the cancellation, I received one only a week ago, dated 8/20/24 stating as requested your account has been cancelled. The problem with this is that I was out of the country and never made this request. This company has some questionable business practices.

ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO STARS.
We've been customers for decades. I'm being dropped by Slomins for not using enough oil and being oil efficient. My account was up to date but they won't deliver. Shame on them. They wouldn't even figure out a way to renegotiate for lower usage in the year. Awful. Just awful.

I haven’t had issues with any of the sales, delivery personnel, and/or service engineers. The service engineers are always pleasant and helpful! Slomins calls ahead to confirm oil delivery because we have dogs. They confirm they will be secure and dog mess is cleaned up. Completely understandable and very helpful so I know what day to expect them. I wouldn’t want my dogs to get out of the fenced area. I asked for an approximate time window or eta of delivery and the customer service representative was rude. She stated “How can I give you a time window or eta? That’s not possible.” I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a four hour window or time frame. Even a text/phone call with approximate time frame would be helpful. Couldn’t even explain whether it was morning, afternoon, or evening just scoffed and said not possible. If the customer service reps confirming oil deliveries were more helpful I would have given five stars.

We have used Slomin's for our oil delivery for over twenty years. In that time, we have never run out of oil or had a problem with service. If we feel we need a delivery sooner than what is scheduled, they are usually there within a day or two. We have had an oil tank replaced and work done on our water heater a few times over the years (it is an oldie). In both cases, we were pleased with the customer service and repairmen who we have dealt with. I know that we can gamble and price out competitor for our deliveries and maybe save a little - but, its not only about oil. Slomin's keeps track of when to deliver our oil. Because we have been such long term customers it feels like they come out to help right away when we have a problem. In this case, you really get what you pay for. We feel as though they have treated us well and thus they are worth paying a little extra for oil.

Current client with dual membership with alarm and heating service.. i cant get myself to rate any lower due to the excellent service i have been receiving for heating for the past 2 winters. The technician who comes for service is respectful of the home and is very down to earth...now, i cant say the same with the alarm department. Had an incident with the alarm today and despite using professional language and tone, phone rep Gina was very disrespectful and tempermental...her tone was condescensing and with frustrations with questions she would hang up in the middle of conversations..when I was asking matter of fact questions...she would smack her lips, let out a sigh and say " what do you mean you dont understand.." Long story short, i was looking for a way to retrieve my passcode, either through security words, other forms of verification...as i havent activated the alarm for some time due to glitches on the system...mind you the alarm hasnt gone off..she suddenly tells me " oh just press xxxx" after speaking with someone else next to her... she gives me a 4 digit code that would set of a distress call. She tells me, "a rep would call and you would have to give them your password to cancel local authorities from responding... " i tell her. Listen, you cant just give me a set of numbers to set off a distress call when the alarm itself has not even been activated.. It never went off. This is not how i was oriented by your techinican when he was installing the security system..I was calling to see if there is any verifiers i can use to retrieve my passcode...she tells me in a very disgusted manner " i told someone , dont worry about it, the police wont come." 5 mins later the police responds to the house and i send them off, as i think an employee of sloman seems to be having her first day at work.....Now, I call sloman. She picks up again. As soon as I tell her that the cops came for an unnecessary reason due to her negligence...and that she is now causing obstruction of justice...interfering with law enforcement from responding to true emergencies in the area...because she was unable to execute the situation properly...she responds " okay GREAT!" Then, hangs up...Now, just imagine if there was an emergency, where you would need an ambulance, fire , police to respond. would you want a distressed employee, like Gina, to be responding to your call? I really started to question myself tonight...what exactly am i paying for....i have been a loyal customer for slomins and i have my respects to the managing partners and quite frankly...its quite unfair for the business owner to be dealing with the consequences of his poor employees..if you read the reviews, its mostly about negligent employees who werent well trained for the job... not that i am bragging about my profession, but here i am doing a public service by working as a clinican, paying my hard earned money for services... only to be mistreated by an employee, entrusted by the company to render the promised professional services paid for by the client... if I was being disrespectful tonight I understand, as respect is reciprocated....but this was unprovoked at least from my end. She was raising her voice, talking over me...then she would hang up multiple times out of uncontrolled rage...i have nothing further to say...im at lost for words...i havent seen anybody act this way.

Spoke to the managerial team and they were able to professionally rectify the situation. Thank you.

Predatory company with predatory policies and practices. For instance, they will not deliver oil if you have a balance, regardless of how small that balance is. They will let you run out and when you call for service they charge $300 to have a guy come out and put in literally 5 gallons and push a button. Terrible experience, I let that sales guy bamboozle me, only 300 gallons till I can cancel and never go back to them.

My parents had Slomins come to fix their air conditioner. They came on Tuesday 6/9/2024 to fix the problem it turned out being a faulty ground wire. On Thursday 6/11/2024 the air conditioner stopped working again. We called Slomins to come back to see what happen and they decide to charge again to come back and their earliest available date for return was 6/18/2024. We cancelled the service call and got another company the same evening of 6/11/2024. Well it turned out that the issue was the same wire that Slomins repaired on 6/9/2024. The repair job was bad. This company is only out to take your money they do terrible work and you should NOT do any business with them.

Beware: they will cancel your agreement due to low oil purchases and will charge $499 fee. Please beware no way to avoid the fee.

I've been a Slomins customer for over 20 years. I can tell you that they've provided stellar service. Most recently, I had to have two tanks, removed and new ones installed. They did a great job. Great technicians, pride in their work I'd highly recommend Slomin's.

Billing and Customer Service are the some of the I have ever encountered I tried to straighten out my 86 year old mothers account. I was unable to sort out the billing very little made sense. Good luck

I have been a Slomin's customer since 1975. One Sunday night in the winter of 1983 there was six inches of snow on the ground and we had an infant. Our heat went out at 1:00 AM , Slomins was at my home within an hour.
Our furnace recent failed and was replaced with the highest quality materials and workmanship. We have not been concerned about our heating ever because of Slomins. Thank you.
Recently, during the earthquake we lost our heat and hot water. The Slomin's man promptly arrived and told us that there may have been a power surge that blew out our new smart thermostat. After replacing the thermostat, the Slomin's man did a careful inspection of the entire system. He discovered a leak in our oil tank and told us it had to be replaced. If you do not have a Slomin's oil and services contact, I believe you're making a serious mistake. Both the heater and oil tank were covered under the contract.
