Called to follow up about a genetic condition with my puppy purchased in this store. Dominick the employee could not have been ruder on the phone and kept saying it's not their problem. Beware purchasing animals from here and make sure everything is documented immediately!

they forgot to add whites only sign, I tried to play with a dog, told me I couldn't unless I'm buying, but I kept seeing that every white family played with one and werent buying one, he kept putting it back, even got pushed from the long hair employee while looking at the white kitten they had. was also followed too, I guess making sure I wasn't stealing a dog?

I tried to buy a Bichon poo and they said it was 3700, welll the next day I came back, they said it was 4000. This place is a huge scam. Don't come here

My comment is how unhappy I am with this pet store. I will never recommend this pet store to anybody and will do the opposite to make sure no one purchases from here to save them the upsetment. I was told that my puppy wasn’t vaccinated to go outside for 3 weeks therefore I started peepee pad training inside…go to vet 3 weeks later when puppy can go outside to be told my puppy could have been going outside all along and never would’ve been peeing or pooping in my brand new house. The vet also told me that my puppy had TWO parasites from this pet store as they claim the health and well being of their puppies. And on top of this the employee helping us sold us $700 worth of stuff we had said NO too that we had to come back and return days later. This pet store sucks and has no idea what they’re doing.

The staff is less than friendly. They yell and are way too rough with the dogs- tree bay was around customers. The puppies are kept in tiny enclosures with many puppies in each. I suspect the dogs from puppy mills. Please adopt or find a reputable breeder. This is not the place.

I can't believe this puppy mill of a store front is still open! Please never buy a dog from here. They are known to buy dogs from inhumane places that just pump out dogs. I bought a Yorkie from there 8 years ago and I am still living with her health conditions which not only cost a fortune, but drives me insane everyday. If it wasn't for my wife with a huge heart, the dog would have been gone 7 years ago.

I wanted to write this review because shake a paw tonight was part of a special moment in my life it was my dogs birthday today :))) unfortunately my little fellow hasn't been doing too great and with life's responsibilities and taking care of him I hadn't had time to buy him his birthday cake or in the mood since I wanted him to be well first. I came to shake a paw @8:15 15 minutes after they had closed one of the workers there had no heart I understand it's past closing time he was just ignoring me through the glass but I'm glad there are still great people in this world this other man (that works there) approached me at there door and took the moment to hear me out and offered me solutions to what I wanted unfortunately since they were closed I was unable to buy anything but he gave me a couple cookies to go home with for my dog and it really just made me tear up I'm glad that he (didn't get his name) represents this store and general care for animals because we really are missing more people like him in this world so thank you so much for allowing me to not come home empty handed for my dog it means the world to me !!!!! Thank you shake a paw for the cookies!!

Shake a Paw has provided our family with the most gorgeous HEALTHY pure bred pups for over 13 years and I will always purchase my pups from them. My daughter and I go there weekly for specialty pup food and we adore Jade. She sold us our last Beautiful Baby Boy. She remembers their names, their breeds, has great advice and it’s a vibe I actually love. I love picking out their bones and asking questions with the staff about supplements and diets etc. The staff is awesome- to be honest a lot of the customers are rude LOL!! Don’t let the negative reviews or shaming prevent you from checking out the pups Get the pup that’s the best fit for your family. Sorry Lastly: Puppies get sick, adult dogs get sick, pets get sick and it’s our responsibility to care for them!! I know it’s scary, stressful and sometimes gross, costly but whether you like it or not most puppies get parasites, colds, limps and lumps and wait till they get old haha etc, as a pup parent it’s YOUR responsibility to care for them and be the most nurturing and responsible pet parent!!

Never in my life have I hated a place more. They don’t even deserve a half a star. I understand sick and injured dogs may sometimes come with adopting. It happens and it’s highly unfortunate. I have heard horror stories about this place and I wish I listened. My dog is now 3 and never once has had a happy moment. Since a year old he has chronic pain. Double hip dysplasia, elbow deterioration, severe allergies. He cries everyday. He is 3 years old and can not even take a 5 minute walk. We have talked to experienced vets and surgeons who have told us the majority of his issues are due to improper breeding. Breeders who are aware of issues with adult dogs and continue to breed for money knowing the puppies will be in the same pain and live terrible lives. From the moment we expressed concerns with our dog when he was first taken home, the only option they gave was to put him down and replace him with a new dog. They literally told us “well we can give u and new dog and put this one down.” I can’t even explain the disgust I feel with this place. I pray everyday this chain is shut down. Please do not give them your business. The sick and pained animals do lot deserve this. All for them to make a quick buck. Disgusting, horrendous place. SHUT THEM DOWN!

I went here yesterday with my fiance to look for a puppy & we ended up going home with the sweetest french bulldog puppy. The staff here was so friendly & helpful. Jade helped us from the minute we walked in, through all the paperwork & even helped us shop for everything we needed after. The staff seemed genuine like they cared for all the animals and their customers.Highly recommend them!

BEST PUPPY STORE!!! Forever grateful to Shake A Paw for my newest baby Pomsky!! He is the most gorgeous HEALTHY playful and not to brag, BRILLIANT LOL, puppy ever!! The store was immaculately clean, staff super friendly and helpful and I observed all the care going into each and every puppy. My new puppy was not even released to me until thoroughly vet checked and shots up to date. Not to mention every customer, buying or just browsing, was so happy to visit. These negative reviews are false in my opinion! Nothing but rave reviews for this store and my new amazing boy!

I'm going to join the bandwagon by stating how rude and unprofessional the staff was. With the exception of one female. Her enthusiasm made up for her total lack of knowledge of animals. We were looking at a 4-1/2 month old Huskimo. I understand you have operating costs, but they were completely inflexible with the price, not even willing to budge $100 for a $2800 dog. But its kind of hard to say No to your daughter when she instantly fell in love with this girl. I will add, the only other dog they were willing to go down on price was a male Huskimo that was already 8 months old. They kept trying to push him on us. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to train a Husky that's almost a year old? Nice try! They sold us and I'm 100% positive they did so with the knowledge of how sick this dog was. The 1 month of Vet care they give you does nothing when it still cost us almost 1500 dollars after that 1 month ran out. Our poor Stella was and still is teeming with 3 different parasites. She also has a high level of protein in her urine and we were told its crystalizing. The worst is the Giardia. This dog absolutely refuses to defecate outside. And when she poops inside she starts eating it as shes pooping making it next to impossible to get rid of these parasites. We have tried several different meds including super drugs made by a compounding pharmacy. All efforts provided us with no positive results. As I said... this dog was $2800 and out out of pocket vet expenses above and beyond the first months free vet care is now pushing the cost of her in the first 2 months alone. You also have a VERY limited number of Vets you can take them to during the first month. When we were doing the paperwork, they gave no impression that the extras they were giving us were going to cost. We figured since no one said anything that it was included in the cost of the puppy. The only thing they sold us of any value (as told to us by their vet and ours) was the kibble. Everything else was unnecessary, and a complete money grab on their end. That cost us another $600. They refused to provide us with any information about the Dame and Sire only saying they were Huskimo's. I also asked for information on the breeder, which they would not provide me with. Everything was just so vague. ***I also want to add, and very important. When we went to register our pet with lostmypet.com they said the serial# of the microchip was registered to a Bichonpoo weighing 0 lbs.*** Its been 2-1/2 months since we got Stella. We have her in training with a professional canine company. But she's still is sick with non stop diarrhea. Which as I stated earlier, she will only go in the house. 9 times out of 10 she misses the wee wee pad. She also walks in a squatting position while pooping leaving a trail everywhere! Shake a Paw states, No refunds, but we will give you a store credit. Why in the hell would I want another diseased animal from you? And what kind of an A-hole returns a pet. In for a penny, in for a pound. I have already contacted NYS AG Letitia James on this matter. I sincerely hope that people see this review prior to making the decision to buy any animal from them. I know they are going to try and come back with a response defending themselves, but the bottom line is you sold us a sick dog when you claimed she was perfectly healthy. A dog with non stop diarrhea is NOT healthy and ill guarantee you the 3 other dogs that were in the same pen are just as sick as she is.

absolutely horrible. I can't explain the sadness and the angry feels that I ever purchased and supported this chain. Since we brought my dog home, he has had countless issues. Double hip suasion, severe, elbow, dysplasia, internal and external allergies, paw issues, the list goes on. from the moment, my dog was brought home. He has never once lived a single day without discomfort. He is only three years old and cannot even take a five minute walk due to the pain he has endured. We have taken our dog to countless fats and surgeons to inquire about the issue, all of the issues presented we have been told could have been prevented if they breeder properly. The majority of the issues my dog faces are due to breeding that could have been prevented. The issue is my dog presents. Our first presented an adult dogs. The breeders are aware of the issues in the adult dogs and continue to breed just for the money. From the moment my dog was six months old represented our concerns to the facility and they told us to put the dog down and they would replace it with a new one. I can explain the hatred and discussed I feel for this place and I hope one day to get shut down in her never able to work with animals again. I wish I listen to the people who told me what a horrendous place this is. The owner is disgusting, rude, arrogant, and does not listen to a single concern. All he cares about is the money do not ever give this place your business, because they will continue to abuse. Miss treat animals who deserve a proper life. and what disgusting life to live, knowing you're severely impacted the lives of animals and not caring. Absolutely disgusting.

Not only are the employees mean and rude for no reason about cameras and wanting to give attention/pet the animals but i also witnessed multiple puppies eating their own poop. It is clear the employees and store owners do not take care of them... they are just looking to cash them in.

Went to see these adorable little puppies some time ago and thinking of buying one but decided to see if we can play with one of the puppy in the little rooms first. My daughter built up the courage to go ask one of the female staff, she was right next to her and got completely ignored and walked away. It was very obvious to her that my daughter was talking to her. The staff seems to show no interest in helping my child, unsure of the reason but she possibly think my daughter was just there to waste their time to fool around instead.
