Not my favorite local shop. The selection is acceptable though not great - they don't seem to be too aware, for example, that wine is made in places other than California. It's also rather unwelcoming. With the exception of one, the staff seem rather condescending and disdainful. Unless you're spending a lot and/or buying top shelf merchandise, they don't seem particularly keen on preserving your custom.

Nice local shop with a great selection. The service was amazing and helpful! There was enough space for social distancing while shopping and a man who worked there wore a mask and gloves. This made me feel pretty safe. I will definitely come back.

I love shopping at Rockwood. Peter and his staff are knowledgable, abundantly helpful and courteous. The store is lovely and has a chill vibe. I always enjoy my wine and champagne buying experience at Rockwood!

My boyfriend and I have been coming to this shop since we moved to Hastings about 6 years ago (he's Hastings native). Most visits have been fine, I usually don't need much help since I know what I want already and where it's located. The times I do need help have been miserable whenever the bald guy helps me. He's been unfriendly about a handful of times that I've asked for help and he's never greeted me when I enter the shop. I'm not sure if he's an owner, I know for sure he's not Rockwood since I see his picture here on Yelp. Two or three other men have helped me before and they were really nice and friendly in comparison. My last visit about a month ago, I guess I should've known better because I noticed he was running the shop that day, but I needed help and he was the only one there. There were two men in there before me that were browsing around on their own. I walk right up and ask about something I needed on the lower end. As I was asking him that, one of the other men needed help too. The guy had a look on his face like I was bothering him and keeping him from helping his preferred shopper. He then told me the bottles I was looking for start at $30-40 and I asked another question. Before showing me anything he repeated AGAIN that they start at that price and I said I understood and I was fine with that... I do look young for my age, but it felt like he thought I couldn't afford those bottles. I do deserve the same amount of respect he gives other men in the shop. I ended up not buying anything because I was so turned off. I ended up going to the Liquor store down the street - very nice guy running that shop btw. I also go to Rochambeau in Dobbs - they have an extensive collection there and friendly employees who have also heard not so nice things about the bald guy working here. Not sure what his deal is but he's losing business for the shop.

Excellent selection. The owner of the shop was kind enough to recommend a bottle of wine that he thought I would enjoy. He also gave me a quick lesson in Wine(s) and said it would be the best Moscato I've ever had. He was Absolutely correct. It was amazing! Highly recommend this place to both wine novices and expert connoisseurs!

Excellent selection. They have some regions of France that I haven't been able to find in other places. The customer service is very good as well. I'm happy we have this in Hastings.

Firstly, I love the fact that we have local specialty stores, so I always try to support them. I get great recommendations that are within my budget, and I really appreciate the great selection. Love this store!

I've been here a dozen or so times in the past year and a half and they've always been helpful and courteous. While the customer service is a little on the sedate side, I kind of prefer that to an overly solicitous style. Nice selection of wines. Definitely check the hours before you go though as they close on the early side.
