Our new dining table and chairs are extraordinary quality and they transform that area of our home. We'll be enjoying them for years to come. The service in both the store as well as delivery was excellent. Superior from start to finish.

Service and concern for customers is probably better if you're about to dump a lot of money on furniture - we're talking five figures here. But for smaller sales - this might not be the place. I wanted to update my bedroom with a few new pieces. Came with measurements and a floor plan and my designer came up with a really creative way to set up my room. Sounds great - right? It was, until when the furniture was delivered, I discovered my designer had ordered the wrong size dresser/chest unit. It fits in my room but not in the way I thought it could be arranged. I called the store immediately, the designer came to the phone but offered no apologies, no options. It's a custom piece, of course, so I can't return it. But I am deeply disappointed and will not use this particular Ethan Allen again. Buying furniture should be fun - and for the price, their customers should be thrilled with how the room turns out. I can't dump tens of thousands on furniture right now - there will be plenty of business for them over time.

Oh my how profoundly disappointed I am with Ethan Allen, the furniture and mostly the customer service. After spending several thousand dollars on a recliner I sat in for 10 minutes in the store, I spent a few hours in it 2 days after it was delivered. It was extremely uncomfortable and for that amount of money I wanted to be comfortable. I contacted the store on the the second day of business after delivery and told them I wanted to return it. I added that we have a couch on order and please put the refund towards that purchase.THEY REFUSED saying I can not return it. Its a special order. The special order was picking the color of leather options they offered. DO NOT buy from Ethan Allen.

Perhaps Ethan Allen in NYC operates differently than EAs in the burbs or other states. I’ve made a few purchases and normally have had no issues, but the last one, a litany of items. So much do, I’m now posting a negative review. I ordered a bed. Was told 2 months. It took almost 4. During this time, salesperson was fired. New salesperson reached out. The foundation ordered was wrong size. Ok supposed to be fixed. Delivery guys had wrong sized foundation. Called (twice) and email. Was told picture from delivery confirmed I had right size, but upon further investigation, realized I did not. Was told someone would reach out. This was about 3 weeks ago and counting. Will continue to try and get this rectified but I personally will think twice before ordering from Ethan Allen around nyc area again.

The furniture was perfect. The service not so. I had to make numerous calls to get information or answers. The designer helping us was not very responsive. I requested at least 4 times to get fabric samples of the fabrics I had chosen. These were never sent to me. I felt like someone who buys a car and drives it out of the lot and once you do, they don't care about you. On to the next sale. Don't get me wrong, the items we purchased are very nice. Service, not so!

We worked with Deborah Von Donop in the Hartsdale store and had a very good experience. She came to our house several times to help with furniture and stair rugs. The entire process was smooth and we received a few pieces early which is always nice.

No flexibility with edge case scenarios and the team will not go out of their way to fix a problem for you. It's very archaic operations sums upon what poor customer service is.
