Customer service is beyond awful. Spent around 10k for an electronics install. Less than a year later, the electronics stopped working. Made 6 repair requests to Hampton from June to Sept. They said they were coming and never showed up for any of them. I finally gave up and paid another company to fix the install. It was done within a week. I would personally look elsewhere next time.

I have worked with Hampton Navigation for years. Avoid company if you can. While they have the ability to do good work but they can't seem to figure out how to organize their time, figure out what customer service really means, and worst of all not lie about what they will do or when they will come. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of alternative companies in the area, so Hampton Navigation has been able to continue operating the way that they do and get away with it. I would tell everyone to \"BE WEARY - PROCEED WITH CAUTION\". If you have to use them, get a written estimate in advance including a commitment of when they will come to do the work, even though it probably means nothing as they will do and say whatever they want with little regard for you or what you need and when you need it. This review is from dealing with them for years now, and I just have had enough and need to warn people in the hopes that they will not share my frustration and disappointment.

I have been a repeat customer of Hampton Navigation for many years. Most recently, they installed a KVH LTE WiFi dome on my new boat. To no fault of theirs, the unit died on me at 3pm, the night before a big trip. I called Dianne at the shop. She advised me that they had an exact replacement in stock. With the aid of KVH's amazing customer service, they had the new unit installed and running live before 6pm that day. Kudos to a job well done.

Wow- SUPER responsive and great work fixing a mess by a competitor of theirs (that we will NEVER go back to). They even fabricate/weld custom pedestal mounts for radar domes, do railings and more- all in-house!

I only gave one star for the girl in the office and Danny, as far as the owner, he needs a serious attitude adjustment. Bill does not know how to speak to customers, and is not fully upfront on his pricing and payment. He demanded full payment before he was even done with work, which should have been told to me ahead of time. Also when i received invoice, i was charged for travel time for two mechanics. The invoice also included 30 percent up charge for Marina, which is a whole other story, and review.

I do not recommend this service to anyone other than the super wealthy with mega-yachts. In a nutshell: they charged me--a disabled vet who lives on his boat and needed a simple piece of safety equipment installed--almost $1400 to install a vhf and ram3 microphone. You read that correctly. And--btw--that does not include the vhf or ram3 mic...I supplied those. So other than instrumentation wire, this was all labor. The tech is a great guy and has nothing to do with this review. He had difficulty running some wire. The problem is, once it gets stuck, you are at their mercy. $160 an hour. Again: if some billionaire with a mega yacht wants the privilege of being charged 1400 to install a VHF, RAM3 mic, and instrument wire, I guess that's the "Hampton's Way". But when you are a disabled vet who has no choice but to live on a boat, and needs a piece of safety equipment installed, is that really the time to take advantage of your fellow man? They claimed after they invoiced me that they said it could cost that much...that is not true. They didn't, and if they had, I would never have agreed to it. Again: I want to emphasize the tech was a great guy (though he didn't program the mmsi number as I asked, or do a radio check, probably because he was hurrying to end the long houred day...I don't blame him), and the woman on the phone was civil in demeanor. But if you are a regular Joe looking for fair treatment from a local business, my personal advice is to look elsewhere: almost $1400 to have a vhf with Ram mic and one instrument wire installed. My experience is that Hampton Navigation is not interested in being a fair ethical member of the business community: they are only looking for financial advantage, regardless of who they take advantage of...even a disabled vet who has to live on his boat. This wiped me out financially. Thanks Hampton Navigation.

This is regarding the Hampton Bays office. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Had a Raymarine radar, chart plotter, depth finder and anchor light installed. Had requested that they call prior to installation so I could tell them where I wanted the MFD. Was informed two hours into installation that they were doing the work. When I arrived at my boat they had begun to install the display in the wrong place. Told him where I wanted it and they said OK. The next day I get a call from the office telling me that I would have to pay extra because the workers had to stay later because I had told them a different location from what they had originally installed. Had I been notified could have avoided all that. I refused to pay the extra money. The anchor light originally had its own breaker and switch and worked just fine prior to them. After they got done with the installation the only way for me to turn on my anchor light is to turn on my ignition switches and my starter switches. They offered to come back a third time but told them I didn't want them anywhere near my boat. Will never recommend to anyone.

I am a charter boat captain and was in Need of an auto pilot service / softwear upgrade. I tried 3 other marine electronic businesses on Long Island for over 5 weeks to get a service call. I was told I will be called back or someone would call to make an appointment, which I never received.

Excellent recommendations for my pricepoint. Advice and planning for our upgrade. Patient, helpful and knowledgeable despite our being new to boating.

I've used this company for years on my cruiser, they are responsive to the needs of their customers and they do a great job with their work, recently I upgraded my navigation system and put in $11,000.00, I have so much confidence in them that I paid them IN ADVANCE! Great job! No complaints, they accommodated my schedule by arriving at 7AM MORE THEN ONCE! what more can you ask for? I've had other companies service my cruiser and this one is the best, their prices are reasonable, their work is superb, professional and they care!
