I bought a used car from Friendly after parting with my leased Jeep. They are 40 min from me, but chose to go see them based on reviews and specials. The moment I drove that car off the lot I saw this place’s true colors. Window doesn’t work. Brakes they claimed to have replaced won’t stop making noise after 2 weeks of driving. Engine hesitates to accelerate. I called Friendly to address these issues and their first instinct is to refer me to the manufacturer. Finally, after 3 phone calls, they agree to have me come for service. An hour after getting there I’m told they’ll only fix the brakes and again refer me to the manufacturer. I engage Dave Reynolds, my salesman, and he basically tells me they don’t want to fix it because they don’t want the cost and because it’s not a brand they sell they aren’t reimbursed. I call a KIA dealer and they can’t get me in for a month. Dave tells me he will see what he can do and will engage his manager on duty, Ben. I am then left alone in the showroom waiting area for another hour on the promise he MIGHT be able to get me a promise of an earlier appointment at the KIA dealer. After no communication with Dave for over an hour I find him and other salesmen BS-ing in an office. I ask for an update and he tells me they’ll call me. I’m sorry but 2 weeks after driving a car off the lot that I now have 3 issues with and I’m supposed to leave with resolution of a phonecall? He tells me he can’t control when the dealership will call me. I then ask him if they’re refusing to fix the car they sold me with these issues. A car I had just signed the final paperwork on 3 hours prior when I got there. He denies that saying I need to go through KIA. I again ask why they’re refusing to at least fix the window as it was broken when I bought the car. At that point, a manager Ben says he will talk with service. This is the manager Dave told me he would engage 2 hours ago when I originally approached Dave about the service dept refusing to address my issues. He clearly had no clue until I found them all congregating in the office. Ben was also pushing me to go to KIA and refusing to take ownership of these issues on this car I just purchased. He asked me why I had been there so long as if I was there by choice wasting my entire afternoon. I then told Ben about my whole process of car buying with Friendly and he then changed his story saying the service manager told him the windows worked fine when it was inspected. When I asked to have the paperwork I had signed 3 hours prior back and to give him back the keys, Ben acted as if I was overreacting over a “simple window not working”. They would not take the car back and I left there with what I can only assume is an empty promise of a part being ordered for the window issue and even more pressure to wait a month to be seen by KIA. I do not and will not trust anything this dealership says. Once they have your money they do not stand by their product or their customers. I’ve made 3 trips to this dealer all for nothing when I could have given by business to an upstanding dealer more local to me.

Our transmission died at 30k miles. Chrysler offered to pay for it and provide a rental. After waiting 3 months, they provided neither. We've spent several thousand dollars and are still stuck with an undrivable vehicle.

We had a great experience purchasing a car here. Car shopping can be pretty stressful, but Oscar made the process as fast and pleasant as possible. We test drove one car, agreed on a reasonable price, and were able to drive it home the same day. Highly recommend Friendly CDJR of Hamilton!

Every time I go to friendly dodge I use John Purcell and he is honestly the best car salesman I’ve ever had. Not pushy, works quick. Won’t go to anyone else.

We purchased a 2016 Dodge Journey from John. On the day we were to pick up the car, the person delivering the car to the dealership got into an accident. Friendly's took responsibility and made the repairs.
Unfortunately we had to bring it back as the initial repair which was a bumper replacement was not done correctly and there was missing attachments and gapping. The dealership is 50 minutes from us. We had to return on our time at our expense to have them fix it a second time and it still had gapping. As well, the following day have signing all the paperwork and picking up our car, John said he missed some paperwork and needed us to drive back to sign it the following day. Personally, he should have taking the time to drive to us. It would have gone a long way to earning our respect and trust. Also the day we signed the paperwork he was pressuring me to leave a positive review right away. I declined and said I would leave one later. He did bring it up again, even asked me to pull out my phone to leave the review. Again we declined.
When we bought the car it was winter so when it started getting warm we noticed the AC didn't work. They fixed that as well but it took all of the summer last year before it was repaired. This should have been part of the original repair and confirmed that it worked in the first place. Again we drove 50 minutes for them to tell us to come back when they have the AC and then back again to actually get it replaced. If you are counting, that is 5 trips so far counting the trip we made for the paperwork that John also threw under the finance department and said it was because they were disorganized. Totally unprofessional.
About a month ago we started hearing a engine noise and brought to a dealership near us but they were not able to diagnose it and suggested we bring to the original dealership. We purchased the extended warranty (thank goodness since this car is a lemon from hell). They said it would be a few weeks before they had the parts to fix the engine. Finally we picked up the car and were so excited to hear the engine purr like it used to. Instead we can still hear sputtering and grinding sounds and the brakes are also grinding which we couldn't have been heard before because the engine was loud until it was repaired. If they had driven this car for even 15 feet, any mechanic worth their weight would have known there were still issues and the brake pads needed replacing. We paid for a rental ($700 almost) for the past week, drove 50 minutes there and 50 minutes to the rental to drop of the rental and the car is not fixed. I would not buy a car from John or from Friendly's ever again. I will not be bringing my car back only to have them not repair issues and having to continuously return at our Time and Expense.
I am researching next steps as another dealership we brought the car to for an oil change and inspection noted that the car had been in an accident previous to our purchase which was not disclosed to us by John. We are not happy at all with service we've received from Friendly's Dodge of Hamilton and even less happy with the expenses from this purchase.
****Edited to Respond****
We did not put 29K miles on the car since we purchased it. I'm not sure why you said that. We fully understood that the brakes and rotors were not included. We did expect the garage to inform us, identify the issue, and provide a quote for the repairs that were not covered. I was upset that we were not informed so that we could have had those repairs done while our car was already in the garage and we had our rental. However, all the others issues still stand and my points.

DO NOT BUY from here, I was there the other day, and saw this at their service garage! Ridiculous, this is what will happen if you buy a vehicle from them. Your safety is important, imagine going down the thruway and having this happen to you

We had an excellent experience purchasing a vehicle at Friendly Dodge of Hamilton thanks to our sales representative Dave. He was thoroughly knowledgeable about our vehicle, answering all of our questions. He also found creative solutions to meet our requirements. His after sale service has been nothing short of amazing. He has been available to answer questions even when he’s not at the dealership. We will definitely be back!

Just bought a 24 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Friendly. Everyone here is great but Neil really went above and beyond. Ask for Neil when you are ready to buy a car. You will not regret it.
Also, Greg and Gavin in detailing really made my car shine. Thank you!!
