Visiting my parents from out of town and really needed to get some highlights since my roots were several inches long but my stylist in Chester doesn't have an appointment available until January. My mom suggested I give Split Ends a try since the owner of it is kind of a younger gal (not trying to be rude, I'm 35 so I'm not exactly younger myself, lol. I'd say the woman that did my hair was probably about 10-12 years older than me). Completely disappointed. I asked for extremely blonde highlights (didn't want to do my usual bailage since I wasn't familiar with this stylist or the quality of her work) to make everything blend (I always keep the bailage coloring very blonde compared to my natural light dirty blonde hair). I received caramel color highlights instead. When the color was done processing, seeing as she asked how I usually style it - blow dry and use a curling iron to play up my natural waves and curls or a flat iron to straighten it - I thought she was going to style my hair, which would be the norm after getting color done. All she did was lightly blow dry it for not even 5 minutes and put a small amount of product in it which made it greasy and even more weighted down (my hair is very fussy and I can only use 2 or 3 products that don't have that kind of affect on it, which I stated to her but she still used some argon oil product instead of the bio silk that works great with my hair which she did have at her station). My hair was still extremely wet as I have thicker, very long hair. I was especially surprised about the lack of completion of styling since we had talked basically the whole time about my hair being the texture that it is and that I either have to put some product in it and put it up in a bun and hit it with some hairspray or I have to blow dry it completely and either curl it or flat iron it. There is no in between because my hair turns into a frizzy mess of an Afro that will be about 5 feet wide. This cost me 70$ plus tip. Certainly not even close to what I usually spend on my hair but it was very basic highlights that I asked for so of course it shouldn't have been no where near what I usually pay and it's definitely not the most expensive waste of my money that I've ever had but I'm just very dissatisfied and disappointed. I work hard for my money as most do and I don't like to waste it on anything - especially when the service I received was nothing of what I asked for. Maybe it's the best she could do? Or maybe it's because she had her daughter in there pestering her and floating around the salon and wasn't paying attention to all she was doing? And then her son came in right before she started "styling" my hair so maybe she was rushing? I don't know what was the reason but I would never go back or recommend this salon to anyone.
