  Very disappointing experience. I am a local business owner. They have 5 gallon poland spring water. I went with two empty containers both from Poland spring (5 gal each) but they will not take it without a receipt. It seems they just want to charge you for the deposit. Who carries the receipts with them??? The acting manager explanation made no sense. One of the empty containers was bought at southold IGA. The other in Greenport. At the end we couldn’t buy the water we needed. Local businesses should able to count on IGA but this was incredibly wrong.

  Small, footprint but a great variety for the size. Good produce. Staff was helpful. Premade deli sandwiches were fresh.

  Just ran in for a quick bite. Went to the deli counter and got some tuna fish.

  We've been several days at Greenport for vacation, and we've visited the IGA supermarket for groceries.
  Prices are good.
  We picked food buckets at the deli place to take to the beach.
  Staff is very friendly.

  Since when does Greenport IGA not accept cash??
  The cashier that rang me up “ Mario” I also believe he’s a manager there now said card only. This is crazy. First you take the amazing managers out of GPO, and give us these clowns, and now they don’t accept cash.
  
  Cashiers that need to help care for their sick family members and put the time off aren’t given it, so they have to call out and then are rewarded with no hours the following week.
  
  This used to be our 5star supermarket bet they took the good ones and put them in southold to make that a 5 star.
  
  Give us back our managers, our happy cashiers because even they left.
  
  Maybe it’s time to leave this market for the tourists.
  
  I’m a Full time resident and shopper but I’ll drive up island before going back here

  For a small store they have a big selection and have great service. If they don't have it ask them and they will try to order it for you. They even have imported DePalma pursuit

  A small but mighty grocery store is what the IGA in Greenport is. While it is small, Greenport is also small. It is clean and near and is jam packed with every day items. While it might not have everything a Wegmans has, it's really had a lot more than expected for a grocery store of its size. There is recycling also in the back of the store in the parking lot. Also centrally located towards the marina so convenient to the highest density of houses in town. Go here if you need groceries while in town.
