He thought it may be a sensor in my engine but before replacing the part and charging me the labor he suggested I get it reviewed by the dealer first and if it's the sensor he would fix it. Turns out it was the engine which was still on warranty so I got a free engine. He saved me a lot of money by just being honest. Will go for every car issue from now on.”

“Do honest mechanics exist? Based on my previous experience I doubted it. But likely (against all odds) I managed to find one and can't help sharing my story. I was looking some local shop to bring my car over. I had no idea of nature of the problem (some weird noise) and was prepared to do my best refusing long list of expensive repairs. But (what a pleasant surprise) it was nothing like it. “Great Bear may have proved that first impressions matter. Upon an unexpected car trouble, we urgently needed someone to take a look at our vehicle for diagnostics. After unsuccessful visits to two nearby shops, where I wouldn't have felt completely confident or comfortable leaving our car overnight anyway, we came to Great Bear, which was our first pick but farther from where we were than the other two shops. Little more than one hour later, hearing them casually say "you guys are all set" was the best thing that happened to me all day. It looks like they didn't overcharge, either, and I was glad to hear what they said happened to the car and what was done to address it, and pay whatever they charged. They have a 'presentable' waiting room that was actually comfortable to sit in, and the shop front was near and free of any signs of chaos, unlike the other two shops. I hope they stay open and be helpful for a very long time.”
“Honestly, the only thing that’s taken me so long to write this review is the fact that I swore I did one years ago but apparently didn’t!I’ve been coming to AA for years now, ever since I moved into Farmingdale, and I couldn’t be happier. Eric is awesome and is always helpful and accommodating. Everything from fixing a flat to getting a replacement tier quickly to squeezing me in on a Saturday morning for an inspection, I know I can always count on him to take care of me. He is one of the rare honest, reliable and genuinely good guys in the auto mechanic business! Highly recommended!!”

“A+, the only thing the techs could of done was wipe the smudge mark on hood and right front corner panel from their golves. The techs always do the right thing. Been going for over 5 years for oil changes. Dont forget to go online and print coupons.”

“Returning customer on this and other cars. This time just an oil and filter change but more extensive front end work on previous visits. I called on Thursday and Tom scheduled the first appointment of the next day. He got the filter in advance as it is a specialty item thus avoiding any delay for parts on the day of service. Shawn took me first thing on Friday and was done in an hour, in and out. Alway pleasant to deal with, fairly priced and they know the history of the car so make suggestions when appropriate.Service: Oil change”
