We were guests at a wedding being held at the hotel. We opted to also book a room because of convenience. The hotel is quaint, has well-crafted wooden furniture/features and the room was very comfortable. The bedding felt like we were sleeping on clouds. Thanks for a great stay!!!

Incredible experience staying at the Sherwood Hotel this past weekend. Greg was an amazing host and made sure every aspect of our stay was super comfortable and we had everything we needed. Went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure our family had a great experience while visiting town. We will definitely be back again!

We had a lovely experience. When I first saw the location of this hotel I knew it was perfect. It was just one block away from when me and my husband first met. When they weren’t openly doing individual bookings I was nervous but I reached out to them and they booked us a stay for two nights. The price was affordable & the property owner , I think his name was Greg? was absolutely wonderful. Thank you guys for the great experience. We couldn’t have been happier.

The worst of the worst! I attended a wake in Greene yesterday for a close friends father. He was a 28 year veteran of the NYS police department & died very unexpectedly...not to mention, a well respected member of this community for many many years. A story was shared at the well attended wake...The family reserved a block of 9 rooms at the Sherwood for out of town family coming in for the wake, funeral, etc .The day before the wake the family received a call from the Sherwood, notifying them that they would no longer be able to accommodate them, but would be happy to offer them a discount in the future. Ummm huh? They explained they had existing guests that wanted the place to themselves & were offered more money for the rooms. So the family was left high & dry during the worst time possible & the Sherwood got their extra cash. In addition, they'll now get several of these reviews all over the internet because of their reprehensible behavior. My fond memories of visiting the Sherwood in the past will now stay in the past because I will never set foot in this place ever again & advise the same for anyone reading this.

Very good.My wife and I went there for lunch today.I had their shrimp poboy with garlic fries.... delicious. The only - slight - con was the shrimp were a little tough.... but that did not affect my enjoyment. My wife had their cob salad which she said was also excellent.... plenty of chicken and bacon, and the balsamic dressing was delicious. We also shared a small order of bacon-wrapped shrimp, served with barbecue sauce.... again, very tasty. The service was decent, and the waitress was very nice and polite. All in all, highly recommended.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Today we ate lunch outside and the food was delicious and the service outstanding (thank you Hunter.) The veranda was completely full and Hunter handled every table with efficiency and always a smile. The chef in the kitchen must have been equally as talented as plate after plate of delicious food came out and no one had a long wait! I took pictures of this beautiful setting and hope these owners have success. Business meetings, small weddings, showers, this is the place.y w

My step-mother booked a block of rooms so that my siblings and I would have a place to stay when we came for my father's celebration of life party. With it being the closest option, we called to make a reservation and my sister and I got the last two rooms for the weekend, thankfully (or so we thought). Another sibling had made their reservation a few days earlier and sent me a picture of their reservation, rate, etc. When I made my reservation, I was quoted a different, higher price. I figured it would be easier to sort it out at check in. Boy was I wrong! Upon arrival, check in should have told me how things were going to go. The "Manager" running the desk that evening had quite the attitude. When I questioned the rate difference, she had to call the owner, Hunter. The owner told her, "that's the rate. It's the same for everyone in your block of rooms." After she hung up from Hunter, I was able to find the receipt my sibling had sent me. When I showed it to the "manager" (btw, what are you managing if you're the only employee and aren't given the power to make management type decisions??), she then had to call Hunter back. Of course, Hunter was suddenly unavailable to answer questions. An odd disposition to take on a high check-in Friday night. I requested a call back from Hunter as soon as possible. Then when I requested my room key, the "manager" said, "the gentlemen with you" (ie my husband. stop being so narrow minded!) "took the key". I know he in fact did not have the key. I bring him back to the desk and she insists that he took the key. After we again told her we didn't have it, she finally found it in her pile of keys. I know the wedding party that had arrived behind me also had issues checking in. They were in the lobby over an hour trying to get it sorted. When my sibling that provided the receipt attempted to check in, they couldn't find the reservation. When we got to the room, things did not improve. The door trim in the room for the door into the room had nail heads sticking out about 1/2 an inch (see the pics). The ironing board was old and stained. The carpet was in dire need of replacement. Apparently the wonderful new owners think that slapping a poor paint job on the walls is considered "renovating". Everything looks very well worn throughout the property. Phone receptacles sticking out from the wall (they've removed all the phones as there isn't anyone ever there to answer your call). Paper thin doors for adjoining rooms that allowed me to listen to the neighbors entire phone conversation. TV cabinet doesn't sit level, so the doors of the cabinet won't stay open to allow you full view of the TV. If you need to plug anything in near the bed (ie a CPAP machine), you'll need to move the mattress to get access to an outlet. In the mean time, my sister, who raised similar question about the room rate for her room was told that we had "bigger rooms" so that's why the rate was higher. I'm not quite sure how we had a "bigger" room. We had a single queen bed. There wasn't even enough room to add a second bed if they wanted to. My other sibling that I had the receipt from was paying less for a room with two beds. We put the Sherwood out of our minds and did what we were there to do, remember our father, returning to the hotel only at night. I don't think for the remainder of our stay until checkout on Sunday was there one person available at the property. Most often there was an "In Case of Emergency" sign in place of a person to service your needs. When check out time came, I explained to the gentleman working the desk that I was STILL waiting for a callback from Hunter. I wrote down my phone number again. I advised him that if I didn't hear back from Hunter in a timely manner that I would be airing their dirty laundry on social media. To this day I have never received a call from anyone at the property to discuss the situati

Charming hotel in small town. Clean room. The bed was absolutely amazing. So comfortable. Every staff we encountered was happy, polite and welcoming. Liked reading the history of the hotel provided in room. Don't want to see this place close again.

The ambience and service are awesome! I highly recommend eating from either the first floor deck or second floor balcony. The prices are super reasonable and I really like the truffle fries. The first time I went, my lobster roll was really good - it was lemony and the mayonnaise to lobster ratio was ok. The second time I ordered the lobster roll the mayonnaise to lobster ratio was definitely too much and so the sandwich was not nearly as good. I’m looking forward to going back but probably won’t order the lobster roll for a while.
