“My dog Liberty got sick and a wonderful woman took me to this location and introduced me to the ladies here(Gale if you read this THANK YOU for what you did!!) The vet tech was originally just going to look her over because they didn't have an opening for the doctor at that moment but they managed to, what I assume, rearrange things/squeeze me in and took Liberty in to be seen by the doctor. Thank you so much for fitting Liberty in for an emergency visit! I absolutely highly recommend that if you need a vet, to come here! The ladies here are absolutely some of the most wonderful people I have ever met, very gentle with animals, and they take time with you to go over everything and explain everything in a way that you can understand.”

“Dr. Wallach is truly the vet everyone needs. He takes his time and speaks to you before and after seeing your pet and goes over diagnosis and prognosis in so much detail. I've transferred care from another vet in the area and have never looked back since! My dog Coco was in pain due to unknown causes and Dr. Wallach has been wonderful. “Brought my maltipoo here for an emergency visit. They were kind, caring and accommodating throughout the process. The receptionist on the phone was kind, took the necessary information and was able to provide a sme day appointment. Once I got there the facility was clean, the front desk was efficient, and all of the staff were great. My pup and I had a great experience and would come back for a regular visit as well as an emergency (if needed although I hope not lol)”

“I am very pleasantly surprised and happy I found Garden City Veterinary Care. I was transitioning from my old veterinarian to find a new one after 7 years with them. Main reasons is because my old veterinarian clinic quality of care started declining and prices were substantially increasing. Like any good pet parent, you look for a veterinarian that gives the same care as if it was their own pet. Honest and fair prices. I found this in Garden City veterinary care especially with Dr. Elizabeth Stietzle and the team there. My fur baby had her first dental cleaning there. They explained to me what it entailed and were transparent with the prices. Dr. Stietzle also kept in touch with me before and after the procedure. I found my fur baby's forever doctor!”

“I am really glad I made the move from where I previously took my pets to PVMG (formerly CVA). The staff is compassionate and caring, which is incredibly important to a pet parent. They are professional and considerate and remember you. It seems this is true for most of the staff at their other locations, even over the phone, helping you make appointments at another clinic to get your pet in if they need more immediate service.

I would like to single out Dr. Frank DeFeis, who is one of the best veterinary doctors I have been to in the 30 years I have been a pet parent. He has treated three of my cats. One was originally diagnosed by two other doctors with cancer due to her nasal bleeding. Because I couldn't afford certain high-priced diagnostics (although the average market price for radiology across NYC vet clinics), he patiently tried various avenues with medicine and tests over a three-month period, and eventually, he found it was a bacterial infection, and cured it. My other cat, who does indeed have bone cancer, has been treated by Dr. DeFeis with love, kindness, and patience to keep him alive with quality of life while explaining everything along the way to me (and dealt with my quasi-hysteria over it). His use of herbology and acupuncture as well as traditional medicine has allowed me more time with my cat, and he has gone above and beyond to help a pet parent with anticipatory grief.

I cannot recommend him highly enough, and the office staff at both the Bayside site and the Forest Hills location have been incredibly compassionate. Thank you.

UPDATE:
I am also very grateful to Dr. Ottenbreit, who is also incredibly kind, caring and knowledgeable. She took over my pets' care when Dr. DeFeis moved to the main location. Her and Muhammad the main Vet Tech/Nurse (Veterinarian Reaident??) and the whole tean made my terminal cat's transition into spirit as loving and good a send off as one would hope. We put him to sleep yesterday, which is two months after my initial post. The staff were rooting for me and my pet family, and the tender care they gave us is forever appreciated.

They also took extra care and extra time out of their day to give the stray cat a buzz due to the matted fur from living outdoors her whole life. “My cat Luka started having serious problems and I took him to West Hempstead Animal Hospital where his care has always been top notch. The staff are helpful, friendly knowledgeable and caring. Even though he did not like being there at all, I always felt that he was in the best care.He started deteriorating quickly. Every time I called about something serious that was happening with Luka, I was given an appointment immediately.The doctors and technicians took time to examine him and explain every detail of what they were doing. I felt confident that he would be alright.Unfortunately after a rough week of tests and bloodwork we found out that he had inoperable cancer and there was nothing the doctors could do to prolong his life and/or make him comfortable. I was able to bring him home for one more day so our family could spend time with him.We brought him back the next evening when the hospital was empty where we were all treated with such compassion and dignity, especially our beloved Luka. He closed his beautiful eyes one last time with his family around him and I know he felt our love. As hard as it was for all of us I feel that Dr. Cutler and the staff made it a little easier to say goodbye.Thanks to all of you who helped Luka, and us, on this difficult and heartfelt journey.This was a previous review before Luka became very ill.:Wonderful care for my pet! “Crawford Animal Hospital is a great vet. I have taken my Dachshund Duke to Crawford since he was just a puppy and have always had great experiences with them. We normally see Dr. Gary and he is gentle, kind, and compassionate. We have seen the other providers as well from time to time and everyone is great there. You can tell they really do care for the animals. Dr. Gary is very attentive and listens to my concerns and goals for my dogs care. When we board Duke I am able to call and check up on him and get thorough updates. So happy I found Crawford since i haven't had the best experiences with some Veterinarians with my last dog.”

“Absolutely the best.Let me start by saying that I’m a crazy person who treats my dog like a human baby. I love her more than anything in the world. She also has terrible teeth, common to her micro-breed. (Little dogs = little teeth = tiniest bit of decay can destroy a tooth in a blink.)Dr. Surgeon and his assistant Maria are AMAZING. The office is small and intimate and so welcoming and warm. The technology they use is state of the art and the doctor even showed me how the various imagining machines worked, and he explained in detail what he saw and what he did. He was so kind and thorough and honestly— I didn’t think they made doctors like this anymore. He’s like someone from a totally different era; so wise and decent. He told me “I still do this because I love the animals” and that’s clearly true.Maria was also so warm and loving to my little dog and I could tell my pup felt truly comfortable and at ease with her. I was so nervous about having my dog’s teeth dealt with but Dr. Surgeon and Maria honestly could not have done more to put my mind completely at ease.DO NOT HESITATE to bring your dog here. And please note, anyone who has left a bad review (go ahead and read them) is complaining solely about money. Well; no, it’s not cheap to have your animal go under anesthesia and have complicated surgical procedures performed. That’s why there’s pet insurance. I’m sorry if it’s going to cost you a lot, but that’s not a reason to blast a truly gifted and deeply caring doctor. No one can possibly have anything bad to say about how their animal was treated here, because it’s impossible to imagine Maria and Dr. Surgeon reacting to any creature with anything less than total professionalism and love. So glad I found them and so happy to be able to return for cleanings in the future.”

“I was in search of a new vet doctor for my fur babies, I called VCG, and from the phone call alone, I was attached!! The rep (Jessica), who answered my call, was extremely polite, to say the least. She took the time to ask questions about my cat, to best fit him into the schedule. She offered same day appointment after making sure the other client was no longer coming for their appointment. Once I got there, the place was clean and bright, I felt very welcomed ? I don't remember the nurse's name, but she too was kind and caring. Dr. Ma was also very kind and showed a lot of caring and concern for my Tigger. My overall experience was amazing, and my Tigger, who is very scared of strangers, surprisingly was comfortable walking around at ease because he sensed he was around good professional people.
