Honestly, community helpers is so much better. The Salvation Army prices are ridiculously high, if it has a new tag on it, they don't care if it is 20 years old they charge an incredibly high price. I found sandals there for 1$ more than at Walmart. Also jeans, for 1.99$ more than at Walmart. Used silverware costs the same or more than the cheap silverware at Walmart that you can buy 4/1$ It is very disappointing because it is supposed to be a service to the community. All of their items are donated.
Also, I remember going here once with my son who was 4 years old at the time. He decided to tell me he had to go to the bathroom really bad after we went In here. They absolutely refused to allow him to use the bathroom. A 4 year old child. The original founder of the Salvation Army would be rolling in his grave if he knew what this Salvation Army has turned into. This store in Gloversville is not recommended. Other stores in other places are much better but this one is not. Sadly.

I love this store. There is such a good selection to choose from! Though I have been seeing the prices go a little too high.

I hadn't been in this store in close to 6 months and was shocked by the high prices. $6 - $10 for a used T-shirt ?

I love to go to the thrift stores, use to love going to this one as well up until they started to base there pricing on what the item is worth instead of just a couple bucks. the thrill of thrifting is to only go in with 20 to 50 bucks and get a nice little haul for you or your family but it's not that anymore, its sad salvation is starting to get greedy like goodwill did I was in this store the other day and I literally heard an employee tell another employee "hey we need to raise the price on this item its in style its too cheap" ....what?! Needless to say I walked out thinking this stuff is donated to you come on now... I know you need to pay your employees a wage I get it but some of these prices are not far off from the new sticker price ...thrifting use to be fun now they are taking the fun out of it by jacking the prices up on stuff they get for free...

Super reasonable prices. Nice selection of merchandise, especially furniture. The money goes to a good cause. Friendly and helpful staff. There really is no downside to shopping here. I encourage others to check it out. Great place.
