Andrew did great work on my bridesmaid dress. He is skilled and knows what he is doing. I was given a price up front and he even helped suggest dress alterations that I did not see myself, without pressuring into the extra work.

Be advised: The owner Andrew is a slick con artist. He pontificates about professionalism but treats you to a long list of petty grievances. Instead of sewing he pontificates. Aim seems to be to make the customer feel guilty about HIS fate in life - and then proceed to overcharge. All about HIM. BTW, keeps poor hours of service and then lies about it ("family emergency", dog ate my homework, etc)

Really disappointed in communication with business. Didn’t have clothing back within agreed time window. Didn’t have clothes for interview. Had to rent a suit for one of the biggest job interviews I’ve had.Not clear on pricing. Do not trust with deadlines. I would find some else than this business.

I do not recommend this tailor for anything that needs substantial alterations. I’m sure for minor tweaks (hemming etc) he’s wonderful, however he did a very poor job altering a dress for me that needed to be taken in substantially. I wish he just had told me that he wasn’t able to do that kind of work. Instead, my dress was still far too big and the boning was poking out of the sides because he just took in the sides with no thought to the rest of the piece. Additionally, there were pen marks on the front of the dress. I just wish he had been honest about his abilities.Service: Alterations

Delmar Custom Tailor and Cleaners gave me and my son the best customer service we have ever experienced in life. My son received his uniforms on a Friday and needed them tailored and military pressed by Monday morning. We called all around Albany and no one could help us- my last call was at 6:45 to Delmar Custom Tailor, which closes at 7pm. I explained what I needed and the owner explained that he was very busy and would have to work over to get the job done and would have to charge double for the work. I agreed, he remained open until my son arrived. When my son arrived he encouraged him to stay focused and to continue to work hard to accomplish his goals. He told him that he reminded him of one of his sons and he wanted him to be great. In order to complete the order he worked that night until 2 am to finish his orders for Saturday and then focused on my sons uniforms on Saturday morning. The workmanship was excellent and my son was complemented for his uniforms being "perfect". Not only did he deliver early, he only charged regular price. We truly thank Delmar Custom Tailor & Cleaners for going the extra mile and doing a fantastic job, we really appreciate your dedication to your customers. Andrew is GREAT! I have been coming and been a dedicated customer since 2007! He is very talented and will make sure that all alterations are up to your standard. He also provides really great feedback & suggestions about how certain clothes should fit. Andrew is a very shady guy. He will use his Guyana accent/language barrier to get what he wants; not you, the customer. Terrible business man. Appears to be kind, gentle, and understanding, but is far from that. He is driven by greed and his prices are not adequate for the work performed. Do not do business with this shady man.

They did an incredible job and I would recommend to anyone that needs alterations. I came in with a bridesmaid dress that wouldn't zip and needed to be hemmed a few weeks before the wedding. When I came in to pick up the dress, at first I was scarred the dress had only been hemmed because it didn't look like the top was touched. The dress was altered so perfectly you couldn't even tell it had been altered. It fit absolutely perfectly and no one even knew it had been altered!! He even sewed in a hook at the top of the zipper free of charge when he realized it was missing. He was so personable, friendly, and really saved me when I was in a bind!

My mom lives in Albany and when I needed to get my wedding dress tailored she swore by her tailor. Andrew was fantastic! seemed to really care about what i was asking him to do and made suggestions on the fit. He had it ready for pickup when he said and it turned out perfect. Recommend!

Absolutely the worse alterations I have ever received. I needed minor alterations done to my wedding dress~he said no problem few minor alterations and my dress would be ready on time. Owner called me in a panic and said I needed to come and get my dress then he said I will call you tomorrow. He didn’t call so I called him. He said he forgot me and I needed to come right then and get my dress. He claims he would not be there rest of the week. He didn’t even have me try the dress on. I was home and tried the dress on ~ what a mess. I couldn’t wear it for my wedding. He is a nightmare. It was as if he did nothing that he was supposed to do.Service: Alterations
