November 2021 by Michael M.
Today is November 20. Each year I typically make the mistake of waiting until mid-December to buy wrapping paper and ribbon for Christmas, inevitably sorting through the picked over things remaining or heading to the Hallmark aisle to be thoroughly fleeced. Today I thought I'd get a head start; after all, Christmas decorations are going up across town. This is the "better" of the two CVS stores in Bethlehem (apparently Price Chopper has managed to squeeze out any further viable competition.) I noticed some Christmas bling when I entered the store and headed to where the season items normally are located but nothing appeared to be consistently filled with items for any one season. And, the two aisles where one finds such things were blocked. Boxes were dumped in the middle of the aisles around which you had to navigate; other sections were reducted to narrow corridors with unopen or partially opened boxes precariously stacked on top of each other. My immediate thought was that this was a definite danger to a small child or a older person. There were some items on the shelves; others were laying randomly on the floor in heaps. I then noticed Halloween decor and candy that was still on the shelves or under the few Christmas items that had been tossed on top of them.My immediate thought was that this is partly the impact of the unloaded container ships in west coast and southern harbors; I tried to be generous and thought perhaps the clutter (actually downright mess) was due to hiring issues that are confronting retail. I tried, without success, to find open boxes of what I was hoping to find (I succeeded in opening one and finding white issue paper) but otherwise was unsuccessful. While searching I went around the obstructed aisle and for a moment made eye contact with the manager walking unhurriedly past me and clearly not interested in being asked any questions. As I watched him it was clear he wasn't busy and wasn't worried about things to get done. I then noted other employees; there were other customers in the store, but it wasn't a situation where all hands needed to be at the registers. It required considerable effort for me to find a few things, which I chose to buy because one can't be certain with the current transport issues that preferable items will arrive in time for Christmas. What I settled for was far worse than what you'd traditionally find on sale after the holidays. It occurred to me that opening to clear the mess before store hours would get the clutter cleared, the Halloween items of the way, and the stock in the partially and unopened boxes on the shelves. But, that would mean someone cared. It's evident that the issues here aren't lack of stock, and there are a sufficient number of employees to maintain the store; this is a management issue. Again, this makes me worry that people entrust this store with their prescriptions. This is a shame because the facility is newer, pretty clean, has great parking and is located in strategically optimal location. It's simply not being managed and the result is a borderline disaster.Something must be up with CVS; the three I've been in recently are all a disaster; I sense the company is being sucked dry by an equity firm and is going to be dumped. My experiences have made me sorely miss Walgreens (something I never imagined.) As I won't set foot in a Walmart for anything, it's evident I'll need to head into Albany to find seasonal items. Quite a shame; quite the fall in a once decent to dependable retail location.

I have never had a better experience with a Pharmacy! I called and spoke to Pam - who was an angel. She spent almost 30 min on the phone with me and was so kind. First I gave her my wrong insurance info, then I wanted to try using a coupon, and she answered all of my questions. Thank you Pam!!!

Never saw such a rude employee. There is a Chinese guy that works here who is very rude! I made purchases of over $700 and needed to return 2 items which I purchased in Delmar. This nasty guy told me to return my items back to Delmar. I would have purchased them from Glenmont if they had them in stock. This guy makes the whole store a dismal place to shop. Go away fella!

The worst customer service of any cvs I have been in (and that's all around the country). This includes the pharmacy department and up front. Everyone acts as though they're doing you a favor to even speak to you. When a customer is waiting for you and you finally realize they've been standing there, you don't just stare at them, you ask, "can I help you". What a miserable bunch and an even more miserable experience to have to go in there.

I started getting my scripts here in Glenmont because my original pharmacy changed hands and was horrible and this is close to my work. Now I'm thinking maybe they weren't so bad after dealing with this place! I wasn't going to even say anything but their continued lack of professionalism is really starting to annoy the crap out of me. I called in a script today for a refill. Went there about 10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, about two hours later. I actually left work real quick to go get it. I went through the drive-thru. "It's not ready yet. I can expedite it and have it ready in about 15 minutes." Huh? We're busy, blah blah blah. You are acting like you are doing me a favor when I left work to come get something that was supposed to be ready and it isn't! Then she says she can have it ready before closing at 9:30. Huh? No apologies or anything, just excuses. My first encounter of filling a script here was about a month ago. I was the first one in line. I handed the person a coupon for my medication. They had already run it through with my insurance and they said I would need to wait another 15 minutes because they would need to run it through without insurance and there are other people waiting. I even called before I went there to verify that this coupon would be acceptable. So I have to wait because you messed up? I was first in line for Pete's sake. Get outta here with this! Worst pharmacy ever for customer service!

Rude pharmacist, waiting for scripts called in for renewal days in advance. Calling incorrect doctor for refills - even though my mother's cardiologist called in the Rx (which they did NOT fill). Charging incorrect amount for Rx - example $38 plus versus $3. Horrible people to do business with but my mom won't change because they are close to her house. Will say that the front store cashiers are very helpful and polite.
