Ashley F does such a great job grooming my feisty and rambunctious puppy, Lily! As an 11-month old, she has a ton of energy, is difficult to groom, and is fidgety beyond belief. Not to mention her little shark teeth! Ashley is so kind, patient and gentle with Lily and does a FANTASTIC job with her grooming-- from her nails to her teeth. Thank you!!!

This store is a wonderful location now and looks very organized and clean. I met the new manager Jeff and the other girl at the register, both were incredibly nice and helpful even with a person who was incredibly angry at them for something they couldn't control. Just really impressed with the staff at this location. I will be back.

The groomer is amazing. My very old dog is stubborn but somehow she gets his nails done and all with a big smile and so sweet.

This Petco location stayed open a few minutes late for us so we could buy something our dog needed that night. They really went above and beyond! Location has plenty of parking

My puppy had his first grooming appointment today (Christmas Eve) at 8:15AM. We have now left 45 minutes later after unsuccessfully trying to call over a dozen times. The groomer simply did not show up or respond. Incredibly frustrating and unprofessional.

Thx for the response Diana. But there is not much that can be done. The fish are dead. The Kids are devastated there fish i already had died. And I wouldn't want any more fish from there because i wouldn't want to go threw that again. Not only did all the fish die i spent just under 200$ trying to keep them alive with medicine and other chemicals i had to buy to get rid of the parasites and they died anyway. Like i said nice staff but you need to work on your fish department. Thx anyway.

I am leaving you a one star review in hopes that you will finally pay attention and contact me as I have requested. I have left messaages at the store and on the customer service toll free number to speak to the district manager for the Glen Cove NY store location. It has been over a week. Can you please return my multiple calls?

Everyone has, is entitled to their thoughts, opinions of places they conduct business with. As stated in my profile, my reviews are honest, based on treatment received in whatever establishment I am doing business with. I am not a demanding person, if fair service is offered I write a favorable letter to that employee's manager hoping he/she will receive recognition for a job well done. I have been a Petco customer for a long some time, spending quite a bit of money on each visit. I'll admit the Glen Cove store is not my favorite, sometimes it's convenient. I have been buying the same premium brands of wet cat food in various varieties for many yrs. However on a purchase in July of 33 cans my cats would not eat the food, they would take a smell and walk away. I kept opening different cans, the same thing happened. I was down to 17 cans and realized what a mistake I made, rather than wasting all those other cans I should have simply returned the food. Well I did, a credit was issued to my method of payment, however, the credit has yet to appear on my credit card. The credit was not given at the original cost of purchase but based on the sale price for that day. This was my first time in returning food, perhaps others are more familiar with Petco's return policy but I consider this to be unfair. I contacted Petco 3X questioning their return policy, also to inquire when the credit will appear on my credit card. The only response I received from Petco was "did you bring the original receipt to the store." These are the rocket scientists working at Petco. I work with animal rescue, many of us purchase food for the cats, dogs in foster in addition for our own pets. I will not be returning to the Glen Cove or any store of Petco, I realize I am one of many customers so losing a few doesn't matter to a company who is more interested in beauty than the welfare of animals. I'm referring to the birds who never have clean bowls, enough water and food. I also consider the staff at the Glen Cove store to be inexperienced, nasty and not willing to offer any assistance. I walked in PetSmart was treated with friendly service. Petco sold me bad food, has yet to apologize, respond to my questions and used the excuse "cats sometimes go off food." Are you kidding me-you're dealing with an experienced animal person who knows cats far better than the people working in the Glen Cove store.

Our first day experience of training our 6 months old puppy was awesome with Trainer Bri. She is very professional and gave us lots of tips on teaching our puppy to behave well and able to have fun at the same time! Love her! We felt that our puppy has learned so much simply just attended the 1st session. Can't wait to go again for the second session to see what else our puppy can do!

This is a decent Petco . Not as big as the one in Hicksville but that's a 20 minute ride I won't take if I don't have to . I feel like no one reviews the Vetco service they provide on the weekends so I will also write about that. First and foremost the service here is hit or miss with some cashiers being friendly and helpful and others bordering on rude. Also the last 2-3 times I've been there I've noticed a young ,brown haired , male employee staring at me (I think he's the manager ) On one of the visits I caught him looking at me and making a comment to a female Hispanic looking employee . I don't know what that was about but it makes me uncomfortable and if it continues I'll likely just patronize the other big pet retailer in town for basic pet needs. Now on to the Vetco. I think that the fact Petco has this service is invaluable to the community because they're addressing a need . For a lower price than most if not all vets you can get your dog's vaccines . It's invaluable for those who have little disposable income for these things but have a pet and lets face it ; that's a lot if people . If other vets were smart they would offer things like this once a month. Now for the negatives ; On my first visit to get my dog's vaccines I walked in 15 minutes before the starting time of 10:30 to find a looooong line of people with pets ( dogs & cats ) waiting . The vet was actually running a little late and the fact that my small unvaccinated puppy and I were waiting in line with a bunch of other animals didn't seem quite safe . 1: for reason of an unvaccinated dog picking up a disease from other dogs & 2: for matters of safety.I have a small dog and there were some very excited big dogs on line just inches away. Some of the large dogs would get excited & lunge at other people's dog's and you could see that dog's owner struggling to hold them back . My only concern is one of those dogs getting loose and attacking one of the smaller dogs which would be dangerous for both the dogs and the owners. I'd been told Hicksville's Petco offered pagers and let you wait in your car. So I decided to try that location. Unfortunately I took my puppy there the second time and waited over 2 hours on my feet and they did not offer a pager . Once again I was in a long line and to top it off someone had called out so they were backed up . Not a good experience . I decided to continue vaccines at the Glen Cove location in the future due to that.So while it's a good concept it's not executed in the best way. Perhaps they can look into doing things differently like offering said pagers and adding some seating . Standing in line; in an aisle blocking people's way when they want to look at certain products is not a good way to do things .

This 5-star review is really for the manager there, Christian. I purchased something for my grandmother that she never used or opened. I threw out the return and when I called customer service they said I couldn't even get store credit without the receipt. So I literally went into the garbage to get it. When I brought it to the store the boy at the register said he couldn't scan the barcode so even though all the other information as legible I couldn't return it. I asked for the manager and Christian came out. He was friendly and said it would take an extra few minutes to input the info manually but I could absolutely return it. He also said I could have received store credit without going into the garbage. He apologized for the false information I received on the phone and when I got to the store. Petco would have received ONE star without him.

a smaller then usual petco in glen cove in a outdoor strip mall . had to pick up some doggy food and it had to be a specific non supermarket brand . the usual pet food, toys , accessories and other stuff mentally ill dog and cat lovers will buy .they also do grooming and adoptions here , i was helped right away with what i needed and was on my way . if the regular animal food is not good enough for your pet then i guess it's good to have a petco around but prices do tend to be in the high side but they carry everything for your pets and that's ok.
