I had always dreamt of getting married at the Major's Inn just on the look of the exterior, and Cecelia was incredibly helpful when my husband and I had come to view the venue. She worked with us on any questions we had and was incredibly patient and kind throughout the experience of working with her to ensure set-up and clean up was a breeze, she even gave us a detailed packet that included table size options, china rental options, mantle lengths for decor, and a list of vendors who've worked on site prior that have great experience in working at that specific location, which made everything so easy. It's a fantastic venue, and the cost is a value to say the least at only $2,200 for two and a half days of the entire grounds and kitchen for caterer use. We received so many compliments on how stunning the venue was, and I believe every one of them because it truly is a beautiful place for a wedding.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I called to tour the venue for my wedding. The woman I spoke to was pretty rude and unfriendly. When talking about what day to do the tour I asked what day worked best for her and she snapped “ I’m not there all the time so you’re going to have to pick a time.” After deciding on a day and time my Fiancé and I drove over and hour away to the house and she never showed up to our appointment. Never called or reached out to me at all. Also the house is not appropriate for a wedding or likely any event because it does not look well taken care of - rotting apples on the side stairs, part of roof shingles falling off, weeds growing on the porch, and the screens on the lower doors had big holes in them. If you are looking for a venue for a wedding or other event please run far away from this place.

I absolutely love The Major's Inn
It sits right on the corner of the best village in the USA :) Gilbertsville NY
I just can't look at it enough..
This past summer we had Alumni weekend there.. Hence the pictures!

Absolutely gorgeous historical building. My sister in law recently got married here, and every square inch of the property is breathtaking.
The reception area is smaller, but was perfect for our party of 80.

My wife and I were married here. The historic inn is undergoing some updates and fixes after being left in a state of disrepair many years ago. The first floor and and part of the second floor are usable for events like weddings (bride's and groom's dressing rooms and bathrooms upstairs, great hall and kitchen downstairs) and have all the charm you'd expect of such an antique building. There is a large lawn on the premises with a beautiful view of the building which we used for our outdoor wedding and reception.
