This review is a couple days late but here we are. First off Kathy is such a sweet lady, I called her last minute and she was able to squeeze me in. I wanted to go to PR with my hair slayed. Let me tell you she did not disappoint she was fast and precise. I can’t wait to go back for my next style!
They have been in multiple beaches and pools, and washed a couple of times and are still going strong.

The best braids ever! Kathy is absolutely fantastic! So fast, kind, patient and has such a wonderful eye for artistic details. I got my Burning Man braids done in under 3,5 hours. Thank you so much Kathy for such beautiful braids! I miss them and can’t want to have them again. ??

I had such a great experience with Kathy, never had my hair braided so fast. Great energy, pleasant vibe. Please get your hair done and get some really cool african clothing at Kathy African Couture. I left as a really happy customer. I know I am definitely coming back.

I have been going to Kathy for some time now and had no problems with her until I took my daughter there. The second time taking my daughter to get her hair braided was a disaster. I walked in for my appointment and she was doing someone's hair and had another. I waited almost 2 hours and when she started my daughter's hair someone else came in to get their hair braided. I guess because it was getting late and she had someone else waiting, she started rushing through my daughter's hair. She was combing my daughter's hair with a fine teeth comb without even holding her hair. She started parting her hair and because she was rushing she began bunching her hair up and tangling it then rip it apart. My 10 year old was sitting there crying while Kathy pulled her hair like it wasn't attached to her scalp. I was livid! It was disappointing because I've gone to her several times and brought other people to her; NEVER AGAIN! I will find someone else in Rockland

I really needed my hair done, however my regular hairdresser was unavailable for an appointment. I called this place as an effort to get my box braids. HUGE, BIG MISTAKE. Please do not come to this salon, not only was she 3 HOURS late, the braids came out so disgustingly horrible. She did not even touch my head, she had 2 other people do a fast job because it was already 10:30 PM when they started. They did such a bad job they didn't even let me look in a mirror... I paid 120 dollars for this and I took them out the next Friday and went to my regular lady. I had an event I needed to go to that Saturday but could not because I had to get my hair redone. I will NEVER, EVER again even come near this place. One star. I wish I had a picture of the monstrosity they performed on my head. WASTE of money, WASTE of time.

I'm used to going to the city to get my hair done in the Marley twists style but I took a chance and it was worth it! She did my hair in half the time it usually takes and it looks great. My favorite parts were that she was there when she said she would be (even though my cab made me a little late), the shop wasn't loud with the tv or music blaring and she wasn't yelling on the phone like you often get in hairbraiding shops, her pricing is good and I don't have the headache I usually have with getting my hair braided/twisted. I saw little old ladies coming in to look at the other merchandise and Kathy somehow gave them attention while not neglecting my hair. The only draw was that even with the heater on it was a little cold in there. I'll definitely be going back here when it's time.

I went you today to get my hair done and she was not at the store. I had to drive to haverstraw to get my hair done at her home. I went there with four packs and told her to use all of them and the size would be small medium. She only used two packs. I asked for a refund and she refused. She rushed my hair and my hair is not full at all. I am NOT satisfied and urge everyone not to use her services.
