This is a lovely hotel very close to Mohonk preserve and Minnewaska preserve. The hotel actually has a couple of hiking trails on the property which are well marked and maintained. The red and yellow scramble trails are pretty tough!
The rooms are lovely and the beds are comfortable. There is a Continental breakfast with great options. There are a couple of fire pits on the property that get lit at night, and it's great just to sit outside. The whole property looks well-maintained and cared for. The staff are super kind, friendly and helpful.
Rooms: Clean large room, with AC, TV, 2 full beds and private bathroom.
Nearby activities: Hiking, berry picking, wine tastings.
Noteworthy details: Several hiking trails on the hotel property.

Our large family stayed at Minnewaska for a family reunion. We came from all over the country for our nephew's wedding and gathered at the Lodge for a week. We could not have been more pleased with the hospitality we received. Eric and his staff went above and beyond daily to make our time comfortable and enjoyable. He provided suggestions for activities, supplies like extra towels and sun screen for swimming adventures & bug spray for hikes we took. When he saw us involved in our traditional Family Olympics, he brought out cold water to keep us cool. Their staff was always one step ahead of our needs. The breakfasts also went above and beyond. They had quite a spread for us to enjoy each morning: along with delicious bakery goods, there were eggs, quiche, sausage, fruit, and waffle makings available. And, lots of coffee. The best part was the main living area that we were able to use for our family of 25+ to gather for conversation and games. We even had pizza delivered one evening and Eric and his staff set us up with all that was needed to make it feel like a relaxing dinner. He even insisted on treating us to his favorite flavored pizza (and refused us paying him back), and... bought us several pints of ice cream to enjoy after the meal. I would recommend this lodge to anyone who wants to enjoy a place to gather with family and to be treated like family.
Food & drinks: Eric, our host, provided a great breakfast spread for all our family to enjoy, as well as snacks and drinks available for taking with us on hikes or outings.
Noteworthy details: Eric and his staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and family-friendly.

I really don't want to write this review as my family wants to keep this hidden gem all to ourselves! But in the interest of sharing here goes.
Minnewaska Lodge is a beautifully situated space in a breath-taking setting. The owner Eric knows exactly how to make his guests feel welcome and pampered and at ease. The lodge is immaculately clean, the staff is gracious and accommodating and the setting is beyond words. The hiking trails on the property were amazing and we literally rolled out of bed and went on a morning hike without having to leave the property. The breakfast provided left us completely satisfied and the croissants were better than most bakery fare. We will be going back again as often as we possibly can. It's just far away enough from town to be able to breathe but close enough to be convenient. If we could give it more stars we would!

What an amazing place. Truly special.
The entire staff is so welcoming. Amazing views, the room we stayed in was recently redone and it was super clean and comfortable.
The new owner Eric is a true gentleman and a pleasure to talk to. He told us that they want people "to feel like they are at home when they are here" and that's exactly how it is.
Breakfast was very good, coffee was great
In the afternoon Saturday they served wine and cheese complementary, a very nice touch.
Just a very relaxed atmosphere in such a scenic setting.
Fire pits were great spot to sit at night and unwind.
Great location in terms of hiking trails and town.
Already planning our next trip back

I recently stayed here for a long weekend with my parents, and OMG! What an amazingly beautiful and tranquil place. The staff are all so friendly and wonderful. The owner, Eric, is a joy, and the atmosphere is just amazing. It was exactly what my parents and I were looking for... a beautiful, peaceful, quiet place to enjoy nature. The trails out back are well maintained and well marked. The breakfast they put out is delicious and robust. The croissants are fabulous. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are big and super clean, as well. We stayed in the suite with a fireplace and it was wonderful at night to sit there and enjoy that. The fire pits out back are a great touch, too. I cannot express enough what an amazing place this is. We cannot wait to come back, Eric has created guests for life here!

I live next door to the lodge. They are noisy. I just filed a state police report over noise. A table saw or wood router has been going all night. It’s now 4:00 in the morning and conditions remain noisy. If the neighbor can’t sleep and is offered no remedy how will the guests be treated. When I have guests I send them to the Hampton in, Newpaltz. They have a swimming pool and a quiet respectful staff. I haven’t mentioned the multiple leaf blowers and weed whacking of the forest floor atomizing toxic dust. Then there is the noisy wood chipper.
I avoid controversy when I pick a vacation spot. The noise is terrible, a weed wicker has been going all day. They cut trees, and natural vegetation on the forest floor. Now weeds grow and it’s weed whacking, noise, noise. The lodge cut Down trees that provided privacy screen between the neighboring property. Now he complains his guests can see my cars. The place makes me sick.

The Minnewaska Lodge has returned to it's roots. The new owners have brought back the dedicated service and wonderful ambience that made it a destination in the Hudson Valley. Everything was exemplary about the stay. This should be your choice when visiting New

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at the lodge for a group retreat last weekend.
All the staff and the owner were so professional, accommodating, and very kind. Lovely, bucolic and tranquil outdoor scenery surrounds the lodge; and the continental breakfast was very good overall and included eggs, sausage, waffles etc. The only thing that I was a bit disappointed about was that our bathroom only had 1 set of bath/hand for us instead of having of set of 2 for us but that was quickly taken care of by management who sent friendly housekeeping person with extra towels right away. I highly recommend this lodge and would definitely stay here again. There is only one German restaurant, Mountain Brauhaus in the vicinity, which serves excellent comfort food for lunch and dinner, and we recommend it as well. Other places for eating can be found less than 10 minutes away in New Paltz or Walkill. This is a great place and area to stay when visiting the local trails and wineries.

Had a great stay here at Minnewaska Lodge! Would highly recommend staying here. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Great for rock climbers to stay and non rock climbers as well. The mountain views from the lodge are incredible and the grounds are well kept. 10/10 would recommend.

Wonderful! Our hosts were terrific, they have created a welcoming, warm and relaxing space. Breakfast was great, loved the grounds, was very pleasantly surprised by wine and cheese Saturday night!
Nearby activities: Minnewaska state park and Mohonk Preserve-beautiful! Less than 15 min to New Paltz and right across the road from a wonderful German restaurant!

My wife and I recently spent three days and two nights at this wonderful lodge for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary Hiking Trip. Being that we love hiking through nature, this is the ideal hot spot to get to Minnewaska State Park Preserve. Eric, the innkeeper is such a wondering host. He is not only polite and kind, but is very knowledgeable of the area. We were greeted immediately and were given great suggestions of places to eat and to explore such as Awosting Falls and Lake Minnewaska. He gave us the confidence and excitement to explore the area. The lodge itself has great breakfast, bonfires, wine and cheese, and even trails at the back. We would definitely come back here with our family and our dog. Both my wife and I highly recommend this place!
Nearby activities: Hiking trails and indoor board games.
Food & drinks: There is breakfast, which includes a waffle maker, juices, fruits such as blueberries, bananas, oranges, apples, boiled eggs, cheese-egg, sausage, bagels, and sweets.
Noteworthy details: Eric and his team are wonderful and simply awesome! Eric knows the best places to go for hiking and for restaurants even in New Paltz. The lodge, itself, is very beautiful and clean. Again, this is a great spot to hike on nearby trails.

We had a wonderful stay at the Minnewaska Lodge! The views are incredible and the rooms were comfortable and cozy. I highly recommend the cliff view room with a deck for star gazing and coffee sipping. The staff are so friendly and recommended climbing areas and restaurants! We met the new owner Eric and he is lovely! We enjoyed hearing his plans for the lodge and experiencing the great energy he is bringing to this magical place. We are so excited to come back!
