Not a review of store but of product and recrafting services. I have been wearing AE shoes for 20+ years and have always been satisfied with their quality, style and price point. Best of all their recrafting services are top notch. I just received back from them my 10 year old black monk straps which i sent for recrafting about 3 weeks ago. Shoes needed new soles and the uppers had a few nicks and scratches. Shoes came back today looking almost brand new. Highly recommend AE

I’m not normally a fan of shopping in stores and usually buy everything online. But shoe sizes can be tricky. (in my experience) Depending on the brand, my shoe size can vary. That’s why I like to be able to try shoes on before I buy them. However, finding the right store is a bit of a challenge itself, at least for me. I don’t want to go to a store that’s packed because then it’s hard to get any help, and I always feel like I’m in somebody’s way or find myself rushing to make a decision. On the other hand, I don’t want to go to a desolate store and feel like the employees are watching my every move or hounding me to buy something. That’s why when I stumbled into this store, on a Sunday afternoon, I kept my expectations low. Luckily, I was in for a very pleasant surprise. The store itself was clean, organized and felt very inviting. There were enough people to feel comfortable perusing without having everyone’s eyes on me. When I needed help, it was easy enough to get it. The employee, Sean, was super helpful. He was very knowledgeable and patient. He was able to answer all my questions and we even wound up just talking for a little while. It was a great experience and I definitely recommend the store. It reminded me of the advantage of shopping in a store and how nice it feels when a person goes the extra mile to help you out.

Didn’t realize I got sold the wrong shoe even when I showed the shoe I wanted on the website. Wanted a plain toe but ended up with a cap toe ?. But the sales person was helpful in all other regards.

Got my father a pair of shoes here last week, was very thankful that the sales people were attentive and friendly. I went into 2 other men’s shoe stores and was ignored. Not the case here. I felt listened to and seen and will come back for a Christmas gift for my dad. Thank you!

On this company’s website they encourage you “before buying anything” to visit one of their retail stores to be professionally sized. So I did - now I will never, ever buy an Allan Edmonds product! There wasn’t a single person in the store when I visited on a Sunday afternoon, just two sales guys lounging in the chairs. They were discouraging, telling me they probably didn’t have the boots I want, that they wouldn’t fit very well, and when I asked to try on a pair of boots to see how they fit, they said nah, no point, the boots you’re looking at online fit differently than all the boots we have in the store. So I left and I won’t be back! I would have considered a different pair of boots but these guys had no interest in selling me anything. Even with two sales guys and without another customer in sight at any time during my visit. They weren’t actively rude but they wanted me out - I have no idea why. It was Sunday afternoon and I came from my kids’ sports event, so I was dressed casually. But good Lord these boots cost $500! If they don’t want my money there are lots of other choices. No wonder the place was empty despite a crowded mall. These are high-quality, American-made products - if this company ever struggles and starts laying off factory workers, don’t let them tell you it was due to foreign competition. It was because the arrogant old men running their east coast shops were running off customers with money in their pockets because they didn’t think we were worth a little of their time in an empty store.PS - I see from reading the reviews that I’m not the only one. I am not at all surprised.

Best service and awesome product. Philippe is the go-to guy to get a pair of these amazing shoes. I now have four pairs that I rotate throughout the week. Philippe will guide you along the way and help you get the best shoe that fits you’re lifestyle. Ask for Philippe, you will not be disappointed!!Edit: After 5 years I still rate this store incredibly high. The quality of shoes/sneakers/service is unheard of for the price point.. on top of being made in the USA. Their level of customer service is awesome. I had an issue with a pair of slip-ons. Jeff took the initiative to help get the sneakers to fit properly. Would recommend.

Overall very lackluster experience. There was no stock in the store for boots? I understand it’s holiday season, but they had nothing. Also, one of the guys working there (low buttoned shirt with half his chest sticking out) his attitude towards customers was so rude and disrespectful that we left. He was asking if they were actually going to buy something or just try on, in a very off putting tone. Luckily the other gentleman working there was kind and relatively helpful.

I walk in, not welcomed at all. I ask about the sizes online and he states “why are you inside if you want to order online” I just needed assistance with shoe sizes and I was interested in buying in person. Not only that when I asked about sizes he stated I will not size you up if you’re not gonna buy here. What kind of customer service is that? Do a better job please this old man looks miserable, judges people based on looks. I’m over here in sweats trying to buy some shoes I seen. Garbage customer service will not recommend to anyone.

I've been using Allen Edmonds for almost my entire professional career. Originally through their Riverhead outlet, which has now closed, and so I now patronize this Roosevelt Mall location.Sean was very knowledgeable, patient, and helped me to get a good fit for a boot - something I've never worn before. He knew all about the specifics of that model, and had no problem answering my questions. He even got me a discount!Thanks Sean!

I went to AE to buy a shoe shine box. Looked really nice online. I was not that far from Roosevelt Field and had just enough time before a doctor appointment to get it. I get to the store... a little after 4pm, and there's a sign in the window that they'll be right back. I see a guy inside (on the phone) and when he gets off, comes to the door and informs me he'll be off lunch in 10 minutes! Well, sorry, but today I didn't have the time to wait on him, so I left. So did the other person waiting. What retail store closes in the middle of the day like that? And it's not like the store is so busy in the first place that he can't find time to eat when there's no customers. And they wonder why people prefer to shop online....
