My experience at the Garden City Park, NY store was absolutely horrible. I was browsing the aisles with my child and searching for puppy food. There was barely any variety of puppy food. We both stepped in dog feces which was smeared all over the floor in one of the aisles. It got all over our shoes. I notified one of the cashiers and she said someone will clean it. After completing our shopping and paying for our things (dog bed, treats, food, toys, etc) I noticed that the dog feces was still there, smeared all across the floor. Nobody was cleaning it and it was absolutely disgusting. I had to throw out our shoes. Also, we made a stop in the grooming area to inquire about grooming services. The ladies working there were absolutely miserable. They gave us a horrible attitude and I knew right then and there that I would not bring my puppy there. In fact, we will probably never step foot inside Petco again.

Went today to purchase a harness and the manager, Brian, was super knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Assisted me for more than 30 minutes with a smile on his face and treated my puppy with immense love. Left here so happy and my puppy can’t stop smiling as well…thanks Brian!! You’re awesome.

WORST SERVICE EVER DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE THEY PUT THE WRONG MICRO CHIP NUMBER FOR MY PET RABIES SHOT AND THEY WILL NOT UPDATE IT. MY PET NEEDS THIS TO TRAVEL TO HIS NEW HOME AND NO ONE WILL HELP US UPDATE THEIR MISTAKE. I SPOKE WITH STEVEN A SO CALLED MANAGER WHO WAS LAUGHING AT ME DURUNG A STRESSFUL TIME THEY MADE FOR US. I WOULD REALLY ADVISE YOU STAY AWAY.

It has been a month since I brought my golden retriever to this Petco. Due to scheduling issues, I booked an apptmt at this location, thinking service would be the same. I don't think I would ever bring my dog back. The groomer was friendly but I don't think my dog had a positive experience. It was on 3/21 so the weather was still fluctuating. I had wanted to shave the fur a bit so that she wouldn't shed so much and also for hygiene reasons. The groomer asked me which blade I would prefer (the 5 blade vs. the 7) and I had told her, probably the 7 because 5 seems too short. She told me do the 5 blade and assured me that it would like fine as she had groomed another dog with same blade. It was not fine.
I brought my dog in at 9am and at 12pm, I haven't heard if she was ready. It's usually about 2hours to groom my dog from other Petco's we've been to. When I called, another groomer told me it was because my dog was not cooperating. That was concerning to me as no groomer has ever told me she is uncooperative during grooming in the past 3yrs. When I got there, I was just so shocked by how she looked. I picked her up, paid, and left. When we got home, we realized the damage done. Of course fur will grow back but the groomer never came out to explain what happened. Her colleague handed my dog back to me. My dog went from a golden retriever to a siamese cat. You can tell the edge where the base of her head is, is all botched up. No one I've spoken to thought this was an appropriate job. I reached out to Petco. I waited 1 month and not 1 email or call. I brought my dog back to her regular groomer yesterday. He looked at her and shook his head. Even he said the job was, "inappropriate and the 5 blade was probably used because it's easier and quicker." Hindsight is 20/20 and I wish I had known better but I went to this location with the trust that my dog would be treated as her usual groomer would; not recommended easiest cut. I was hoping I would get professional advise, not shaving all her fur off when it's still cold out and coming home flinching whenever we tried to pet her.
Definitely the worst Petco experience.
Never again.

This establishment refused to groom my dog because he was a bit matted under his neck they claimed that they did not have the tools to groom him. My dog is really furry and is no more than 5 pounds I say this to say that they did not need any special tools to properly groom him. Not to mention in the appointment that I scheduled for him 2 weeks in advance I let it be known that he was a bit matted under his neck. The workers here treated not just me but also my dog very poorly and I do believe it was racially motivated. DO NOT GO HERE.
