I had a very negative experience trying to return an item at the Gamestop located on 188th Street in Fresh Meadows on 6/16/24 The cashier, who appeared to be new, seemed unsure about the return process and was unable to scan my receipt because the printer printed it as faded (the cashier apologized for this when he handed me the receipt on 6/10).
The manager or supervisor was called over to assist, but he was unhelpful and even tried to give me false information about the return policy, just to avoid processing the return. He claimed that if my purchase was a week ago, I was outside the return window, claiming a 7-day return window is actually 6 days. However, the return policy is clearly stated as 15-days, on the receipt.
The manager also asked me several unnecessary questions about my return, including why I would purchase the item if I wanted to return it now, and collected my personal information (Name, Zip code, phone number) without explaining why he needed it.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The staff at this Gamestop location were rude and unprofessional, and I would not recommend shopping there (they actually just wrapped up an argument with another customer when I got in).

You can't check out without being pressured to get their pro membership. They don't understand when you say no the first time. When the line forms and a few are waiting they just proceed to keep fooling around with the current customer at the desk. Lost me as a customer.

This store has the worst customer service of any GameStop I've ever been to. Multiple times I have been denied returns stating "policy" when I haven't had any trouble making the same return at any other GameStop.

Terrible customer service they seemly are outta stock of everything ..wouldn’t recommend going here to buy anything if ur planning to get a warranty for ur devices cause they will lie in ur face

The worst customer service experience ever! They confirmed the item I was interested in over the phone and when I arrived at the store, they denied everything that was said on the phone. Instead of replacing the item that was covered under warranty, they tried to get me the new item with much higher price. I wouldn’t recommend this store to anyone! Look for other store around, if possible!

Called the store twice and spoke with the store manager Richard to ask them if they accept a trade in for a specific product. They told me twice that they do and I have to come in store to receive an appraisal. Had to make a 30 minute drive, just for them to tell me they are receiving an error when they look the product up when they should have looked the product up when called. Customer service is terrible, for a store manager to give false information when given multiple chances to do the right thing. Would not recommend going to this store.

This place is great but they never answer the phone. EVER, it would save me a lot of time if they’d answer the phone to inquire about things instead of having me drive or walk all the way to the store only to be told no we don’t carry what you’re looking for. i’ve shopped here countless times and the service is great and fast. just wish y’all would answer the phone lmao.

Today is a big launch day for two major games. I called the store over 2 dozen times to make sure they had the games available. No one ever answered the phone. Not even once. Not here or at the bay terrace location. I went to the store and there was a total of one employee working in the entire store. While I waited in line for a customer to very, very slowly articulate what they wanted, I continued to call the store, just to hear the phone ring inside the store. However, this location has the ringer completely silenced. So the employees are never aware of whether a call is coming in or not. I get the employees aren't treated well here. But is answering the phone now too much to ask? Especially during off peak hours ?

Let me just say, this is the Gamestop i go out of my way for, why? Because the guys that work there go out of their way for the customers! Kennady and Aaron, know their stuff inside and out. Polite and kind, respectful and honest. These guys helped my brother and I in a tough situation and even stayed after helping to make sure we were all good. Thanks Gamestop Fresh Meadows
