I recently had an appointment for a vehicle inspection at the Fort Drum Auto Skills Center (July 2024). It was the worst experience I've ever had at an Auto Skills Center in the entire United States Army. Having been stationed at four different duty stations, I can confidently assert that no other Auto Center on Post has ever been as rude, inconsiderate, and harsh as this one.
I was treated with an unwarranted level of rudeness and disrespect from the moment I arrived. Despite being extremely polite and respectful, I was treated like a piece of trash. The staff's rudeness and harshness were not only unprofessional but also deeply upsetting.
Seeing such poor customer service is disheartening, especially within a military facility where respect and professionalism should be paramount. I have never encountered such wicked and hostile treatment at any other Auto Skills Center, which left me feeling humiliated and frustrated.

Because i am from Texas and didn't have a receipt to the registrations purchase (sticker on window is registration) they refused to allow me the use of the facility. extremely disappointed!

They only offer orientation course three times a week at inconvenient times. They would be a useful facility if they had decent hours.

The only thing not Great about this place is its hours and days open! Other than that nice to have a place to use! Wish they still had the paint booth in operation and more tools like it used to be!

1. They never have any bays open. Apparently they are fixing some broken bays but it is impossible to get in. This has been going on for at least 6 months now. It is impossible to get a bay to work on your car here.2. They don't let you sign out tools two hours before they close and make you turn your tools in one hour before they close, which means that their hours are shorter than what is posted making the bay shortage even worse.3. They make you attend a scheduled tool safety class during lunch; however, the class is just a 15 minute video they make you watch and then you sign a roster and they give you a card. There is no reason they couldn't be more accommodating and just show the video before you work on your car.Overall this place is ridiculous. Good luck trying to work on your car here. You're better off buying jack stand and the tools to do it yourself.

The guys who work here are so much help. It is so cool having access to a facility like this. I only wish that they were open more often. But I am grateful

Only 2 lift bays and they seem to always be full so I can never get my truck or my wife’s car in. This is also the first auto skill center I’ve been to that requires you to be on the registration (this means they have to see your registration to let you work on a vehicle) it’s quite stupid. Also they work on DPW vehicles there so good chance that all bays could be taken just for DPW. The tire machines seem to never work either huge inconvenience. I’ve given up trying to work on my vehicles there and went out and bought some jack stands and a jack. If you have gotten the chance to get in good for you.

Very hit or miss with this place. Some days the staff are super helpful, other days it’s like you’re an inconvenience. Their policies are d*** too, like cutting off signing in to do work 2 hours before they close. Sometimes people have to work till 430-5 on the weekday and don’t make it over there till 530. Definitely the worst auto skills center I’ve encountered across the army.

Saw like 6 bays open and they told me that they were full. They close at 7 yet at 6 they do too box turn in so they technically close at 6. They have no rebuilding or welding support. Hours are very inflexible to anyone working at the hangar.
