First time there. Excellent cut. Great service. I think Shai did one of the best cuts I have ever had. Will definitely go back for color the next time. I highly recommend them.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this was the most disastrous salon experience of my life. Had “highlights” done with Shai and came out needing $500 to repair his mess at a normal place. The haircut was also a disaster and he chopped my hair off and gave me about 5 inches of layers all around without even telling me he was doing that. I would highly recommend avoiding this place.

I have really thick hair and I like letting it grow out after a cut but I've always hated the short faze. It eventually gets to a point where I need to wear a bandanna to keep it out of my face while I work. That's when it's good. But then it starts getting too long for the bandanna to control and I start looking like Side Show Bob. I kind of like it when it's crazy but it's too much to deal with so at that point it's gotta go. Shai has made the miserable process of getting a hair cut worth my time. He does a great job. I moved to New Rochelle a few months ago and I still drive back to Forest Hills when I need to get it cut down. He's great. He's also really intersting to talk to so Just go and let him fix your mane.

I had a wonderful experience with Shai. I just got my wife and daughter's hair done at his salon, and they both look beautiful. He was very efficient and did exactly what they asked. I also want to add he was so sweet and awesome with our daughter who has special needs. We are all very satisfied.Services: Blowdry

Masaki Yamashito is a top notch stylist. Very hard to find someone as good as he is. And he is able to speak excellent English and Japanese! Shai has assembled a really impressive international team.

When I tell you I'm BEYOND impressed?! That's an understatement. The fact that Shai does NOT hair discriminate is truly what had me hooked. The price of my curly haircut was the fairest I've paid anywhere. Shai is experienced in cutting mutli-ethnic hair, which I have and couldn't be happier! I walked out feeling like a new woman. 10/10 would recommend. His assistant is lovely as well, she was very sweet and I'm really pleased with my experience with Shai Salon. Not the best hair cut. Just okay. Could not tell the difference . Not worth paying 45$. Also does not accept credit cards, asked to pay cash. Very interesting why.
