LR is a scam and they rely on false advertising to find ways to charge your card $60-100 a month for a membership that they advertise as $25-30 a month. They have multiple BBB complaints and also a lawsuit against them.

Let's start with the positives. The classes and instructors are GREAT! I mainly go to the gym for classes, so I can only speak to the classes. The instructors are high energy, which motivates me to get through the workout. I do appreciate having to use the app to sign up for classes to avoid overcrowding. You have to be on top of signing up though because classes fill up FAST! If you see an opening, book it right away as you can always cancel (make sure you do cancel if you cannot attend so you don't take up a spot that someone else can take). If you did not manage to book, you can show up early before class, get on the waitlist and hope that you get in. The chances are quite good as some ladies do not show up. Now for the negatives. On July 30, 2023, I was walking by the gym and figured I would go in and ask about doing a trial and how much the membership fee is. I had meant to do a trial pre-COVID, which never happened. I was told that there was a promotion (they always say this) of $34.99 (see photo attached and yes, I will be upgrading soon ha) and that the price would go up $5 dollars starting August 1,2023. The pressure was on because I did not want to be stuck with an even higher membership. I started a two-day trial immediately the next day thinking the price would go up. Long story short, I signed up, but found out yesterday that the price did NOT go up as advertised. I had asked one of the front desk ladies about a trial for a friend who is interested in joining. When I asked about the membership fee, she showed me the same exact same information that I had seen over a month again. This is false advertisement!! I asked to speak with Sneha, which she begrudgingly agreed to. I told her my concerns and her response was that corporate decides whether or not prices actually do go up, that she's just telling customers what she is told by corporate. We went back and forth because I did not feel like she was really listening to what I was saying. She kept changing the subject, asking if I have been coming to the gym, if I want to cancel my membership, etc. I said I have no issues with the classes/gym, but the fact that she said the price would go up when it did not. It was a sales tactic used to pressure customers into signing up immediately. I am all too familiar with recruitment for work, so I know this is what happened. I do not appreciate that she tried to turn it around and make it seem like my fault. She literally asked, "did anyone make you sign up?" What kind of management is this? I knew this was the type of person she is because I had trouble signing up for the app. I called the gym multiple times, spoke with each one of the ladies, but still could not get it to work. When I spoke with Sneha, she made it sound like I was doing it wrong when. However, turns out that the lady who had entered my name (she had my driver's license in hand) had entered my name as Alise under first name and entered my email wrong. I only realized this when I looked at the screen. Sneha said that I had entered the information wrong. I said, no I had not because it was entered for me. She kept insisting that it was my fault. I get it, mistakes happen, but OWN UP TO IT!! These two interactions really left a bad taste in my mouth and I had to let other potential customers know here. I read the 1-star reviews and knew what I was getting myself into, but I did it for my health knowing that the classes are great. Also worth noting, there was no drinkable water due to low pressure and only cold water for showers for at least a month. Both issues were fixed recently. Bottom line, do not believe everything that you hear and do not feel pressured to join unless you are 100% sure. Management- be honest with your customers, do not lie/gaslight, be respectful, and take ownership when mistakes are made.

What exactly is this gym charging people $37 per month for? For the majority of the summer, the one water fountain they have hasn’t worked. There’s isn’t even any AC- only two fans in the entire basement. The trainers constantly stare you down while you’re trying to work out in the hopes that they can get even more money out of you

If you're a woman or seeking a safe place for your daughter to not be ogled by men, this place is not it. They boast being a female-only gym and then defeat the purpose by hiring male employees. Useless and pointless.

I would give ZERO rating if i could . Nothing ever works here. And if something stops working it takes them months to fix it!!! ONE water fountain in the Whole gym has been out and they dont even seem to care. People are getting dehydrated and SICK in the gym because there is no water .

It's an all womans gym but you can work here if your a man? I understand employer's can not discriminate but seriously why is there a male working at an all woman's gym. It's suppose to be a safe space for woman especially Muslim women, younger teenage girls and us woman who don't want to be around guys while working out.

I’m a member since 2018 I used to love going there every weekend and I did enjoyed the experience and the classes unfortunately since they started using cards to each class so you are forced to use their website and book online so they can make more money now I hate going there for that reason and thinking about cancelling my membership as the classes are always booked way in advance and I can’t imagine walking there for 40 minutes and being prevented from joining my classesIf they will continue with the cards and booking classes online please don’t join

I only like it because it's an all woman gym. There is never a mixture of classes in the morning. And they got rid of Betsy who was THE BEST instructor. Always different music, different moves, it was fantastic!. Same thing with Darryl Freeman- he was EXCELLENT and he's no longer doing morning classes. Adrienne is another great instructor! That's about it- You now have Evelyn Matos who replaced Betsy and she's trash. Same music and steps for the past 6 or so months. I would take both classes on the morning, but I can only deal with the same repetitive crap for one class. And even then, I do my own workouts. Many people do. How are you an instructor and you don't know how to switch it up? Lazy.

I just wanted to leave a little appreciation review to Lucielle Roberts Gym. I did not check the holiday closing hours so I came and it was closed, I really wanted to get my workout done so I went to retro fitness. I forgot what it’s like to go to a regular gym that’s mixed with men and women, I had such a horrible experience there and the men look at you like you are prey, there is no breathable workout space and not clean. Omg I am just so thankful for this women’s gym. I will literally never attend any other gym again that’s not this one. Even though it is a bit old, I feel extremely comfortable in this gym and love the feminine energy that flows through this place. Thank you for opening up this gym and I hope more locations around queens open soon.

The facility looks great I love how it's meant for women. I just find it unfortunate that it states it's an all women gym but it's not necessarily true. Since the gym still has some instructors and personal trainers who are men and staff that are men which definitely defeats the purpose of having a gym for ONLY WOMEN. I hope this can be something taken into consideration I think it would be nice. To have it really become a safe space devoted to only females staff and clients.

The gym is generally fine, and I've been coming here for about a year now. Since it is an all-women's gym, it is especially beneficial to Muslim women and those who wear hijab. I know there was recently a male trainer hired , which bothers me because I wear a headscarf and travel from the Bronx all the way to Queens for this women's gym, having a male trainer just defeats my main purpose of coming here and I'm sure many other Muslim women would feel the same way. It was perfectly fine before but now with a male trainer I don’t feel comfortable enough to come to the gym, I could go to a gym near me but I don’t go since I am a Muslim women and came here instead by traveling 1 hour. It would be helpful if this problem was solved.

I can’t believe there’s a few people here have been through the same situation as I did with Jessenia manager of LR forest hills. Owner, please take our complaints into your consideration. I won’t say much because I have email you guys directly regarding to my case. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Future reference for those incoming new members out there. Keep track of your membership, and who you spoken to. Mark everything down on your end so that you won’t have to deal with monkey business like I did. Overall, great gym space yet, terrible staff.

Manager Jessenia siguencias was outrageously Disrespectful and rude. Consider this when thinking about joining A great gym but this manaer is a liability to the experience. Also, they will overbill you may rip you off. There are several complaints filed with the Better BusinessBureau and Consumer Affairs about inaccurate billing. You can look it up yourself online

AFWUL EXPERIENCE!!!In 2022 I posted 5 star review. Now I’m saying the opposite! Please save your time, money and energy and AVOID this trash place at all costs.New management, new rules - you can’t work out unless you have updated app, no matter how much money you’ve already paid (was paid before the new app came into effect). Always dirty, no matter when you come to work out. They double charge you and refuse to address it on a timely manner. Many complained about music downstairs, addressed it multiple times and front desk said nothing can be done.. the front desk manager Jessenia is very rude, demanding to download the app in order to use the gym. There are many older generation women who don’t have smartphones or apps installed - doesn’t make sense at all. Management/owner please educate Jessenia how to speak to customers, you are losing clients. Many of employers left because of her attitude.

The staff here especially her name is Katie was totally rude and very unprofessional.I signed for cancelled my membership today and this staff put in the document indicated I wanted to cancelled at the end of the month.Last year I spoke one of the staff here I wanted to canceled my membership due to my knee problems But they offered me she will bill me only $5.00 every month until I'm able to come back. But today I was surprised they billed me full amount of $36.56.So I spoke this staff her name is Katie was intended to robbed me and doctorate my documents.Beware of this gym.
