Sylvia was able to help me last minute with getting a qipao for the tea ceremony for my wedding. She had many patterns and colors available and the one I chose needed to be taken in a bit at the waist. She was able to make the alterations the same day and we picked it up a few hours later. We will definitely be returning in the future as she has so many beautiful colors and styles available other than the traditional red.

I got my graduation dress here and my experience was absolutely wonderful! The price was reasonable and the dress is high quality. I was given suggestions specifically for my proportions, and I felt that she really cared that I got the right dress for me. ☺️

Probably the only place in NYC that carries qipaos/ cheongsams, now that everything has moved online. Sylvia was very knowledgeable and carried a decent selection of qipaos for different occasions, including jackets for men. I enjoyed going in person to try out the styles. Everything is done in-house, including small alterations. Call ahead to make an appointment!

Sylvia made my wife’s Wedding Dress and my Tang Jacket! She was so helpful throughout the whole process, and is great to work with. However, Her boutique is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! Please call ahead and do not expect walk-in appointments.

Sylvia is wonderful. Her fabrics are beautiful and I found my qipao there. She was able to tailor it the same day which allowed me to save the trip from having to go back to pick it up. Be mindful she takes customers by appointment only.

Got my qipao for my Chinese wedding event last year. Sylvia was extremely helpful and considerate, helping me pick a style and tailor it perfectly to fit. My husband also got a matching shirt and we were super happy with both outfits. Highly recommend if anyone is looking to purchase a qipao!

Sylvia is an amazing seamstress and such a wonderful person! She's very personable which made the whole process great and the dress came out better than I ever expected. You can tell that it's made with care and thought as the fabrics she use are great quality and the dresses itself are crafted with expertise. If you're thinking about going don't even hesitate! She deserves all the business and praise for her wonderful qipaos.

Many qipao stores have closed since the pandemic, thank goodness Sylvia's is still around. I came up from DC to find a wedding qipao after a frustrating day of not being allowed to try on garments in Manhattan Chinatown. Despite only making an appointment 2 hours prior, Sylvia allowed me to try on as many as I wanted and was super helpful in helping me decide among options. I found brocade styles that I've never seen at other stores or online. I came back several months later (timed with a work trip) to try on what I had ordered -- it had to be shipped from China. I thought I would have to return for a third trip to pick up my tailoring but no, Sylvia made adjustments while I got lunch in Flushing and I took it home that afternoon! I could not recommend making the trek out here more.

I absolutely love this place. I needed a dress for my tea ceremony within three months and she delivered!! Selection & Value: 5/5 She explains the cost of each dress upfront and talks you through colors and fabrics. I adjusted the style of my collar to be more traditional. My dress was around $700 due my personalization and fabric choices. All in all, she is now my go-to tailor and my first pick for these dress. Definitely recommend!
