I would give no star if possible. The thin lady with pony tail is the absolute rudest and nastiest person I have ever met. I went to the back and stood at the counter waiting for her to acknowledgee as I did not want to interrupt her while she was working on the computer. She became very nasty when she realized I was standing there and did not get her attention. How was I to know that your peripheral vision was non existent. I explained that I was trying not to be rude and interrupt her. She then continue huffing and puffing and mumbling on and on. Note to the owner: this employee is miserable at this job and taking it out on your customers for no reason. Please replace her if your value your customers and your business. I will not step foot back in to your store and engage with her.I'll be going down just a few blocks to Bell Hardware

The woman manager there is in the wrong line of work. Very unfriendly, and you can see how she talks down to the employees (which are super pleasant and helpful). This lady will walk right past you in the tiny store and not even acknowledge your existence. I’ve been here multiple times.I’d rather shop on amazon than support this place.

SUMMARY: As they say in management "Everything flows from the top". I'm pretty sure the lady there is either the manager or the owner, but whatever the case may be, I hope she finds peace with whatever is bothering her and I sincerely mean it.BACKGROUND: My wife is a Bayside native and she left Bayside to be with me in CA and now in TX. We finally got around to visiting her mom since COVID hit and her home needed some maintenance type repairs. This store is the closest.SERVICE: As other people here have complained, the lady manager/owner(?) is just not nice. We visited on two occasions within the last 3 days. Both times we heard her berating her staff about where things were placed, why they're not looking in the manual, and the like. I would never ever talk like that to any one of my coworkers or of lower job position ESPECIALLY in front of customers. Accordingly, the staff looks beaten down and are in no hurry to do it right or in a timely manner. Why should they if they get chastised and berated in front of customers by their superior? After the first time a few days ago, they didn't have what we needed so we took a walk down to Bell Home & Hardware on 47-28 Bell Blvd. It was a nice day so we enjoyed the walk and were talking with each other saying (about Parker) "WTH, did we do something to piss her off or something?" When we got to Bell Hardware, in stark contrast the Asian lady employee there...wow, night and day difference. Once we walked in, she asked us what we needed and she walked us directly to what we needed, gave us great advice (including NOT buying one particular kit), and walking us again to something else we needed. Next time we'll walk the few extra blocks. And then today, we were meeting my wife's former boss and since the Parker hardware store was only a few stores down and we only needed some small things, we dropped by again and rolled the dice. Same treatment, same berating of staff. We got run up after a lengthy delay, no thank you, just an unhappy face, and handed me my receipt and change. RETURN VISIT? No. Definitely not. I mean, really, my patronage won't make much of a difference to her since we're only here for a week. But truly, I think the lady manager needs to deal with whatever it is because no one should be treated the way we saw her treat her employees.

"Is this the right lightbulb?""I'm not sure. I'm not an expert. But lightbulbs are final sale."An actual convo I had with a store associate after bringing in the lightbulb I needed and physically showing it to him.

First, I don't normally write reviews unless the service is out of the ordinary, very good or bad! The women, not sure if she's the owner went out of her way to find me the exact door bell transformer to match my old one and it worked perfectly! She checked her inventory on the computer, said they were back ordered but she may have one and looked in numerous places until she found it! Yes it would be nice to be greeted with a smile, but I rather get exactly what I came in for from someone who tried very hard to find what I needed.

It is so wonderful to have our own neighborhood hardware store right here in Bayside! They are great for basic hardware needs for small projects (and getting copies of keys too) without having to travel far to one of the big chain stores. Staff is courteous, professional and efficient. Must be quite challenging to be a Store Manager, but kudos to Christina for managing the store & staff so well. Thank you for your help today!

I have gone here a couple of times since moving to Bayside community and have varied experiences. There is very specific need for a small hardware store in communities like this, but there is also a demand for good customer treatment and honest sale policies. I have encountered a young woman in this business who has very little tact or customer relations skill. She is very indignant in her treatment of her fellow humans, let alone the people who pay her. The customer! I most recently purchased some items, and before making the purchase I requested to know about their store return policy because I was uncertain about the compatibility of the item with my piece of equipment. The young sales man told me that the item needed to be in original unopened package with receipt. I then asked him the hours of the next day, because they were on the verge of closing.I did not need the item because of its incompatibility, so I went back the next day to return expecting a return of payment. When he saw that I used a debit card with a chip he told me it have only the value of a store credit. I told him that he didn’t inform me of that prior to purchase, even though I specifically asked about the policy prior to purchase. He then told me it had to be a same day return in order for money to returned. It was a very dishonest response, since I asked him the hour of the following day.I did get a store credit, and I will return to purchase something soon. I’ll be darned if they keep my money.Beware!! Many businesses these day pull this store credit scam! It is a way to get and keep your money, regardless of your need or satisfaction with a product being sold. Also, customer relations is skill sorely lacking these days. I hope you all become aware of these things!
