If the self-checkout opens at 8:30am, why does the sole person who works it first walks in the store after 8:35am and then opens the 8:30am self-checkout at 8:45am ?
Why do customers have to wait for people to get to work and do a rather pressure less job ?

This place has a habit of putting up sale signs on items and then charging more at checkout!
Or putting up sale signs with the wrong item in stock next to it.
It’s happened so often I have to take pictures of their signs and bring it to the checkout. Every single time!
Carelessness or deliberate?
Either way, not a good look.
Check your receipts!

WHAT A BAKERY!! This is my 2nd occasion for cakes ordered at Food Emporium and they were super delish!!! I ordered the same flavor both times because it was so good vanilla cake, lemon filling, and vanilla butter cream. If you've tasted butter cream before I guarantee it didn't taste as good as this, the baker Sabastian is amazing the butter cream comes out whipped and airy not solid like other places where you feel like you have a lump of frosting in your mouth. I can't say enough about this baker I have also bought mixed bakery items from him to sell at my church events and just like the cakes people can't stop asking where I get these delicious bakery items. So next time you need a bakery don't forget this supermarket has an AMAZING BAKERY, you can also have an edible picture on your cake if you choose. THANKS SABASTIAN YOUR THE BEST ???

I came to get a sandwich and a plain roll for lunch. I proceeded to the cashier which always has a nasty attitude no matter how I greet her pleasant. I paid with a $100 bill, she checked it and then ask for Judy. I want to believe that's the name I heard. Judy comes out from the lotto area and said that my bill was fake and the machine is not taking it. I said it cant be, because I took that money out the bank since Sunday. The line has about 3-4 people in it now and everyone is looking at me. I ask Judy can I use the self checkout to see if that machine would take it. The cashier said uhmm, u have to pay for that. I then felt so embarrassed I said to her I'm not stealing, I'm heading to self checkout. Anyhow, the machine took my money and no one between both staff members apologized for embarrassing me in front other customers. I will never shop here ever again.

I remember this place used to be Waldbaums, oh how the neighborhood changed. This supermarket is FANTASTIC!!! Aside from it looking like an aircraft hangar (maybe it is?), this place is a hit or miss, in a good way. There is SO MUCH STUFF to find and with every visit, there is always something new on the shelves. Sometimes an out of stock item makes you come back again and again just to see if it's back on the shelves. You have your typical stocked groceries, commercial food brands and staples. Then you have a wicked drink selection from your name brand sodas all the way to your craft beers. And then, baked breads and lastly their cold cuts.
You can literally find everything you need here. In terms of variety and prices, I would choose The Food Emporium over Whole Foods any day, and I mean that. It is conveniently close to where I live and it is situated along the Long Island Expressway. You also have the Q26 & Q76 stops nearby, so after a hard day at work, you stop by here and do your shopping.

Absolutely horrible. I got a grill chicken cutlet and it was really really bad that I couldn't bear the smell. No way, I will buy anything from this deli department.

Asian Women Working at Self Checkout May 20, 2024 at 3:00 PM.
I think this woman is not supposed to be in the service industry.
It's her job to use the machine and help it if there's anything she doesn't know.
However, she was angry at the guests and shouted out of the guests.
Customers can of course have difficulty operating the machine.
She responded to a guest attitude and his hand was so bad.
It's a woman who can make a bad mood all day.
Don't hire a woman like this as an employee, boss. Your store's perception is getting worse. please please.. Thank you

Nice supermarket. Could be better organized. Groceries seem scattered randomly throughout isle. They make digital coupons and sales items complicated to acquire. Really complicated.never have bags ready at self checkout.
