If I could give 0 stars… I would. I had the absolute WORST experience here. It was bad enough I came and was told to come the next day although I scheduled an appointment because the lady “had someone else coming in” but my hair was absolutely fried. I came in for highlights and had them done by Miriam. Sweet lady but has absolutely no clue what she’s doing. To mention the “smaller” issues: she applied God knows what coloring on my scalp that burnt so bad I cried, she was very harsh with the way she handled my hair, and she didn’t properly clean my hair when rinsing off the product. It was all over my ears, scalp, and forehead. Onto the main issue, I came in for highlights but first she had to change my hair color to a lighter color, to which she attempted to do TWICE and left me with 2 different colors. The top of my head, near my roots being an orange brown and the bottom being a dark brown. And she even had the audacity to tell me she worked so hard and charge me full price for a coloring when I was shattered and decided to leave the store without getting highlights. This isn’t even the worst of it. I’m just trying to summarize my horrible experience. They got my entire shirt wet when washing my hair, they completely fried my beautiful healthy hair while trying to fix their mess up and I still ended up with 2 different colors. I immediately went to a different salon, one that has SKILLED workers and even they were horrified at what this lady had done to my hair. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. This place should be shut down. I HIGHLY recommend you get your hair done from elsewhere. Don’t come here and waste your money. I attached a photo for reference as to the mess she made.Service: Hairstyling

Although it's a mom n pop hair salon and I say that because the staff is 50 and older, I think it's why it keeps the young people away however I took a chance and have been going for almost a yr. I get my nails done and have had my hair colored n layered and I've been treated great! It's clean and the staff know their jobs very well. I've learned the older the hairdresser only means more experience. As the saying goes "DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER" ðŸ‘

This place is horrible & they're so unprofessional & rude!! I took my 7yr old daughter to this salon to get her hair straight & this old lady with straight blonde hair that speaks Spanish was very rough with my daughter & made her cry! She was pulling her hair so hard while blowing drying that she pull out some hair & put the blow dryer so high that it fried her ends too! I told her to lower the heat & she kept making it higher & she didn't listen to me to be gentle! She's only a little girl & my daughter never cried so badly in any other salon but here! This woman is so mean & impatient & I seen her act rude to other clients too! I'm never coming back here again!!

Joseph-Rubin Beauty Inc. is a nice store in a beautiful & quiet neighborhood. It's among many large & small stores in the neighborhood. It's also near to the Q25 & Q34 Buses.

I thought I would give this place a try with my own hair since the barber Vinny is so good with my son's hair. Big mistake!! I wanted a perm for easy styling during the warmer months. I have very long hair so blow drying in the summer is not fun. I had an appointment with Linda, she said come anytime. Then they called me back saying since my hair is so long I need two boxes of perm and they only had one in stock so I should buy some on my own and bring it. I purchased the exact products they told me to buy at a nearby beauty supply store. When I arrived Linda said she was too busy and wanted to refer me to one of the other hairdressers. The other hairdresser seemed hesitant and they began talking about me in Russian. Little did they know I understand Russian. Finally I was convinced to let the other hairdresser Maya do the perm. I spent four hours at the salon getting the perm done. Once it was done it was not very curly only slightly wavy while it was still wet. There were some knots and rather than unravel them carefully she literally ripped the perm rods out of my hair. Definitely not what I wanted or expected. I showed Maya a photo of medium sized curls before we started. She used both boxes of the product. I was told that the perm would look better after I washed it and conditioned but I could not wash, style, brush or do anything with it for a full three days. I did exactly as instructed. Some parts of my hair were perfectly straight and some had a slight wave. As soon as my hair dried most of the wave disappeared. I was told to come back in to "see what they could do" after the three day period. When I returned they told me I needed to cut my hair much shorter and in layers in order to achieve medium sized curls and this was after the fact which of course is too little too late. I was not informed of this beforehand and they had the nerve to tell me that my hair looked fine and I should be happy with it. The hairdresser told the owner I should get my money back since I was unhappy. The owner refused and just said sorry no refunds. I find this totally unacceptable. My hair looks something like a hippie and a scarecrow had a baby. It's not pretty. I want my money back and I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB and telling everyone I know not to come here. ' The owner Joseph is the one who declined my refund and he had the nerve to do it with a great deal of arrogance and even with a smile on his face. He clearly was amused at himself. I will be finding a new place to get my son's haircut's as well. No offense to Vinny but I won't give a place with such an inconsiderate owner another dime of my hard earned money.
