This was the 2nd worst guest house I have ever stayed in unfortunately, and the reason I chose to stay there, was the positive reviews I read, and also there are not many places to stay on Fire Island, so it has a bit of a monopoly.I don't know where to start. Everything about this place just feels dirty, despite the smell of disinfectant everywhere. The (grey!?) towels provided in the room smelt, and the carpets and bed sheets felt unclean. A UV light would probably reveal a crime scene of filth. The pool area was one of the most uninviting you will ever come across. The service was average, they weren't really interested in being friendly or helpful. The building itself seemed to be in various states of disrepair, paint peeling away etc. I cut short my stay and will never return!

I'm giving the Belvedere a three out of five rating. The price for the week was high but acceptable, considering my husband and I had to switch rooms during our stay. The continental breakfast was disappointing with soggy pastries and mediocre coffee. The beautiful bay views and impressive bathing area were highlights. However, the closure of various parts of the hotel to guests was unexpected. The staff was friendly and helpful, except for encounters with the owner and his assistant. Their attitude was off-putting, especially considering the rates and one vending machine that stocked unhealthy snacks. The owner seemed to have a monopoly over Fire Island, as other facilities were closed. Interactions with him were frustrating and he seemed indifferent. Despite the appealing all-men's, clothing-optional concept of the hotel, the owner's arrogance and his assistant's indifference negatively affected the experience.

For years I had hear about the white looking castle building on cherry grove, The Belvedere Guest House, (men only). So I book for one night only, just to test the waters, well....I believe I should have book for at least three days. The place have a welcome spirit the minute you walk in. A friendly staff await at you (Jason Justin, Miguelito Sunny and rest) thank you guys. The patrons are handsome men of all ages having a good time all day. the place is clean 24 o 7.My favorite spot for my sun bath was the upper deck. I planning to visit again.Nearby activities: Bay view and sunset it amazing, walking distance to beach is only 8 min. and 10 min to a list off shopping store, restaurant, bars and night club.

This place is beautiful. Old estate type feel. Grounds are beautiful. Views are gorgeous. Was only there for the day but the room I saw was nice and comfortable.

Usually stay here once a summer with my fiancé and do day trips if we can't book a weekend. Staff is friendly and so are the other guests. Always have a good time whether it's a weekend or just a day. Only issue is the age of the place definitely shows and the pool needs more regular cleaning.

First time staying at the Belvedere, and first time going to Fire Island solo. Loved the guest house! Great staff, other guests were very friendly, rooms were clean, never had an issue with the shared bath. Didn't use the pool because the weather wasn't great, but took full advantage of the hot tub. The coffee and pastries in the morning was nice. Would love to visit again sometime. I stayed in the Violet Chapel room. Small, but nice, and with a private balcony overlooking the bay.

This is my second time staying the week at the Belvedere, and I will be back as soon as I can. This is now my go to place whenever I want to stay on Fire Island. The empowering queer male energy is palpable, and I always get to know so many fellow queer men. It truly is like a summer camp environment and you can choose whichever adventure you'd like. I always find a good place to relax and read, meet new people, tan, and get my fitness on. Julian, the owner, and the entire staff are so friendly and helpful. See you all soon!

Ive been going to Belvedere since I was a kid the 80s and it never disappoints even now in my 50s. Its a fantasy the moment you walk thru the door and your cares go out the widow along with your clothes. I go more to relax at this stage but, Its the most peaceful place on the island, and the company of men dont hurt. What you do at Belvedere stays at Belvederexoxo JamesRooms: Every room is totally different so its always a surpriseNearby activities: Bars beach night clubs shopping its all a vibeSafety: yes safety first near the coffee.Walkability: 5 minutes from the beach and the walk to the bars stores and grocery is enchanting

The Belvedere continues to delight year after year. This time we stayed on weekdays and the guest house was still full of life.

I stayed in the King Water room. My chief issue is the shower in the room was cold most of the time. The shower in the shared 2nd floor bathroom never had any hot water. Don't stay on the 2nd floor. Other issues were unfinished dry wall repairs, broken mirror, wood wall with a unfinished repair. The faucet in our 2nd room was plumbed backwards. Place needs work if they're going to charge that much.
