I don't ever write reviews, but I had to for this one. I went in to look at the kitchen towels because I saw some Christmas towels through the window. As soon as I went in the lady came and asked me if I needed help, which is fine, it's customer service.I told her I'm looking for Christmas hand towels, she then says there's some in the back and while I'm talking to her she pushes my daughters bag off my back because I assume I was bout to know some stuff down. OK cool, now lm heading to the back now to see the rest of the hand towels and she tells the other lady I'm going to the back and when I turn around the lady is in my face.They were basically profiling me in the nicest way they could. Never again!!! I will be talking about my experience on every social media play form as well, just because I've noticed another comment about the same behavior. Just Disgusting!!!!

This is my favorite gift store EVER !Extremely well stocked with treasures for everyone.The owner daughter and staff are knowledgeable about everything they offer and are very helpful in assisting there customers to choose the perfect gift for whatever the occasion !I love how they quickly decorate and package your gifts purchased !Definitely working from the heart .That’s why i will Always be their customer .Last shopping at the Gift is Love it was during a crisis day before my mothers surgery .. this Gift made her Extremely happy and together gifted us the added love and strength to see us through a difficult moment in our Life !THANK YOU SO MUCH !

I was very disappointed with my experience in this store today. When I go to Beach 116th Street and have breakfast at Last Stop with my daughter we like to check out Gift of Love as they have unique things you wouldn't ordinarily find in most stores, its gitchy. As I walked around I did have some items in my hand. I was also in the process of looking at communion items for my granddaughter. Every time I turned around the saleswoman was just a couple of feet away following me which made me feel very uncomfortable as I knew she was watching to see if I was stealing merchandise. While I was picking out some communion items for my granddaughter and a tee shirt, I had to confront the saleswoman very nicely and asked her if she was following me. She told me she worked there and stated she was not following me. Being in a store that small you know when you are being watched. I put everything down told her she can put the merchandise back and I left. When I left she made a remark about me taking my meds which my daughter heard and my daughter told her she should not speak to a customer like that. And to set the record straight you can let your saleswoman know I do not take meds. And I take offense to that. A. Magee

This place has been a staple of the Rockaways for 30+ years. Denise the owner is so nice and has always been the positive energy the community needs. What a great store for gifts of any kind, especially personalized and gifts related to the Rockaway lifestyle.

Last week I promised to take my 9 year old shopping for gifts for some of her friends. She choose a business I occasionally special occasion shopped at in the mid '00s ... 'Gift is Love' We were rushing, they were closing soon & traffic was a mess with construction so we parked by the Ferry and walked. Not easy. But worth it. She had a wonderful experience. The shopkeepers were wonderful, the ink personalized ornaments were perfect, and we were even cross sold a really nice item, which I appreciated as it's how you run a business. They were crowded, as they often are, and I'm I big guy trying not to knock things over, so I stood aside and let my daughter handle the transaction. We also both agreed it was great not giving more money to Jeff Bezos. Shopping local can be a good experience. It was that night. She'll always remember her trip to buy gifts for her friends.

This is a definite 'go-to' when in need of a special, unique, thoughtful gift. The Gift is Love really has something for everyone: family member big or small, housewarming, milestone event, or even a 'just-because' gift. The staff truly care for their customers. They are *always* friendly, helpful, and patient. I love having the Gift is Love in our community!!!
