He is incredibly knowledgeable and absolutely pays the most for gold in the southern tier! I had taken my piece of jewelry to numerous places knowing what it was worth and nobody in the area even came close to his price! Don’t waste your time going anywhere else, this will be a place you will never forget. The items he has in his store to look at while you chat you will have never seen in your life, very unique and interesting experience! All completely positive! I will be going back even if I have nothing to sell! I wish I knew half the stuff he has probably forgotten, if you have a piece of history and have a question… BRING IT TO THIS GUY!

I started coming to this place about a year or so ago to sell my jewelry/scrap. I actually make out pretty decent by coming here. He is very fair when pricing your items. And usually even has a story or two for me about his life. I thoroughly enjoy hearing his stories! I recommended this place to everyone that I can! Thank you so much for your kindness!!

Just a great experience! Number one let me say if you need a TRULY UNIQUE gift for someone this is the place. I had a few items that I inherited and over the years that I just uncovered. Jewelry, some silver and some other chachkies. A quick Google search revealed some value, possibly. I called the shop on Good Friday and got a recorded message that they were closed and would reopen Sat and to leave my name and number. I received a call from John the next day and headed over after a brief discussion of my "treasures". I spent 4 hrs with John, walked out with a little money in my pocket but the experience and the knowledge I obtained was the real wealth there. 40+ years same location there something to say for that. If you like a store of discovery visit John, it's an experience you won't soon forget!!

I sold a ring at VBS and I got a fair price, a good story and was treated with respect. Before going into VBS, I visited a couple of other potential purchasers, but John knew exactly what he was looking at, down to the last detail and treated me fairly. I would recommend going to VBS to buy or sell jewelry and I will definitely visit the store again in the future for similar business.

We have sold John some un-needed Sterling family pieces several times over the last few years. He is honest, knowledgeable, and fair, also a bit of a character, fun to deal with. We'll certainly return to VBS if & when we need to dispose of more un-needed Sterling pieces in the future, the kids sure don't want it!

Last week I went into a jewelry shop on Washington Ave. in Endicott, (VBS) looking for some specific jewelry. John is the owner, and has been in the jewelry business for over 40 years. To say he is extremely knowledgeable in the jewelry field is an understatement, as his years of expertise, gathered from attending auctions, trade shows, etc… is very obvious the first moment he discusses jewelry. John treats his customers with respect, while listening to what you might be looking for in a quality and price range, and cordially helps you find your perfect item from the large inventory he has in his shop. I couldn’t be more pleased with the item I picked out from John’s inventory, and was very happy with the quality and cost. The best thing I liked about John is, that he Isn’t pushy, and his wit and charm add to the shopping experience. I honestly believe John’s shop and his expertise, offer a wonderful experience for anyone looking for that perfect item! Give his shop (VBS) a try, before going to those chain retail stores and spending much more, and getting much less than John has to offer.

I really enjoyed shopping for a vintage diamond ring here. The owner is a character, the shop is full of fun vintage stuff, it kind of felt like I was in a cute little movie. Plus the price was right.. and far less then Jareds. I'm trying to #ShopLocal so I love it when that also saves me money.

The owner of this store was extremely rude ; was simply standing in front of his shop during apple fest eating a quick snack. The owner comes out in an aggressive tone saying "Can you not do that here" and just kept going on when I could barely hear him. I don't understand the hostility especially during a busy festival. I highly recommend you don't visit here unless you like being treated like garbage ?️

The owner John sowizral is insane.. I see why his reviews arnt great.. I will make sure to tell everyone I can about this disrespectful weirdo. On the phone he said it must say stearlingHe definitely didnt say it 3 times..he told me to just bring them in to look and see so I go there...he picks one up and throws it back in the box saying they're useless and starts going off about them not saying stearling (i was only trying to see what theyre worth)...that's not how the phone conversation even went despite his lies. After he throws the knife back into the box He then said "can't you read?" THATS when I called him rude. Because he is. Idk who tells a customer "can't you read?" SMH disgusting. He was so unbearable I took my items for sale and left.What a scumbag..his store makes the thrift stores look like macys..aweful service and a terrible guy..beware to anyone who reads these reviews and still trys to deal with that freak like I did...youll regret going into that store..100
