Every one of the 4 employees from the tellers to the staff refused to greet or make eye contact with me, and none were courteous. When I left, I was courteous and gracious. Not one employee out of 4 reciprocated any kind of courtesy or warmth back to me. Not sure if it was because I was of a different race than the tellers, but I will never open an account here again.

Very poorly staffed on a very busy Monday morning. You have to be cleared by an initial greeter who tries to solve your problem quickly when meeting with a customer rep at a desk is preferred so you’re not feeling rushed. They had one rep moving around trying to handle questions and only one rep at a desk. I waited first over 30 minutes and was told by one to come back later and told by someone else I was next. Finally after almost 1.5 hrs, the lone rep was never told I was waiting and I had to end up returning in the afternoon.

I'd give it -5 stars if I could.Citizen Bank must be the one of the worst banks ever. I did not hold 2 accounts with Citizen by choice. But I have these accounts when Citizen bought some HSBC accounts, including mine. I visited the Elmhurst NYC branch this morning to close my accounts because Citizen is charging fees. The bank teller informed me that their one and only check printing machine was broken. I was directed to go visit another branch miles away. How can a NYC bank branch be so poorly equiped???I asked them to give me cash (it was only about $10K) and they explained that senior citizens have already taken most of the branch's cash earlier in the month when they cashed out their benefits. So a bank did not have cash???They offered me the option to wire the money to my other bank account for a $30 fee. I asked that the fee be waived because it was not my fault. The bank manager told me the fee was built in.The experience was so horrible and sad that I had to laugh. The employees at the branch were very apologetic. I felt really sorry that they work for such a lousy business. Now I have to waste more time going to another branch to retrieve MY money.I advise all Citizen employees to work elsewhere and account holders to close out their accounts.

This bank doesn’t make line for the customer, all people just want to rush in front of people who is waiting, so unhappy every time has to fight with people don’t know how to line up.

No parking anywhere. You will wait in a 30-40 minute line every time for a teller; you will have someone telling you where to stand in line instead of actually helping the tellers and moving the line. Hire more tellers, pathetic service no wonder these branches are disappearing. Will be closing my account.

The worst branch ever I had to make a complaint to hsbc about the manager acting suspicious Muhammad khan that tried to get my information without my permission and when I asked for what he says don’t worry about it and I had to leave because when it was my turn to go to the teller he stood behind him to get my information so I felt uncomfortable and left

I called them to get help setting up a retirement account for my Aunt. We both work full time, so we can only make it out on weekends. The man who answered the phone said they only had their investment advisor, Eric, available on the weekdays. He said he would give me Eric's number but after I asked if they could accommodate our schedules or offer us any options, but he said no and basically hung up on me without giving me the phone number for Eric.I called the nearby Chase bank afterwards and they were extremely helpful and accommodating. Martha at Chase was such a delight and I am looking forward to working with her. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise, but I am appalled at HSBC's lack of consideration/customer service. Glad I will be taking my money elsewhere to work with people who are actually trustworthy and can put customers first.

I personally don’t have an account with them, however I was asked by someone who does to process a transaction there. I was skeptical about going especially knowing the area is hard to find parking. Much to my surprise, it was a very pleasant experience from the moment I walked in the door. The lady who attended me was very friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. Unfortunately didn’t catch her name but am completely pleased with the experience.

Just walked and waited patiently for a representative to be free, was completely ignored and they took the person behind me first.
