My bank account was hacked on a Thursday, so I went in and reported it as fraud, they told me that the charges were stopped and that they wouldn't go through.
They ended up going through anyway on Saturday. I couldn't go in to talk to someone or call anyone for 2 days cause they are closed Saturdays and Sundays.
I finally went there yesterday on Monday and they told me they couldn't do anything about it and gave me a phone number and told me to report it and solve it myself basically. I'm sorry but I feel like if I was hacked at your bank, you should be liable and have to do the leg work, not me. So now I have to wait about 10 days or so to get a refund from some sketchy 3rd party debit card service they use?? O.o I'm so stressed out and upset and it's just crazy that I went there and they basically told me good luck :]
Told everyone ik about this and they all told me to try keybank or ulster savings. So imma look into that.
Webster was great for 2 years for me, but they need to realize. A situation like this makes you feel not safe at all and that noone has your back.

The new(we) manager keeps trying to profile me, and keeps calling cops over when I am there, but she doesn't know what she is talking about and is definitely not qualified in human resources. That is illegal to slander and liable someone image or profile them especially when you are looking at the picture completely in the wrong direction. You need to make sure you know what you are talking about. Frankly, it is none of her business. I don't where or how these companies are hiring these nonsense people for managers, that want to place judgements in places they don't belong. The staff there is great, it is a shame that they have someone superficial and fake as their boss. Ultimately if she wants and believes it is acceptable to get ripped off, then she should allow everyone to her own account. I gave three stars bc of the great staff, for only one star for this lady. The older lady with the curly white yellow hair. She acts really nice and polite, but her inferences are unjustified and ridiculous. I think she likes to get ripped off.

I drove an hour to cash a check from my Aunt drawn from this bank which was a wedding gift. The manager, Barbara, told me she refused to cash the check because - "because you are not a member, it is my perogative to not cash this check.". She claimed the check was altered and I asked her to call the person who issued the check, which she surely had in her computer files. The check was written quickly, it wasn't altered. But she still refused to try and reach her Webster client, my aunt.She refused. She was rude and entitled and what an awful thing to do someone - to choose not to help a person by not making a phone call.

For a branch that seldomly has more than two customers in the building at the same time I fail to understand the logic in having all their phone calls diverted to daggone Jericho NY. For the 21 minutes I stayed in queue I could have walked to the branch itself and gotten a bite on the way home faster. Poor customer service in my opinion.

I would have gave it no stars if possible. This bank sucks do not open an account here. One day I had questions about my account the teller behind the counter couldn’t help and the manager from the back and he couldn’t help me. The staff doesn’t even know how to work their own systems let alone answer a question definitively. This bank is a JOKE!!!!!!

The staff is nice, but have messed up my account more than once. Their after hours customer service is terrible! I am only with this bank because with auto pay etc it is such a hassle to change banks.
