Store got recently renovated. This is one of my typical go to shops, I like their broad selection, the fresh bread, organic fruit and vegetable options and low cholesterol dairy. Personnel is always around, knowledgeable, friendly and ready to help.

Don't understand all of the one star reviews here. The store was recently renovated, cleaned and rearranged. Food is fresh and often well stocked, except when people panic shop during Covid ups and downs. Or supply chain issues which have nothing to do with the store itself. The workers here are very helpful and always give good discounts. Lines move quickly. Self checkout is available. Bakery on the premises. Fresh breads, pies, cakes, etc. **do check expiration dates on items before you buy ** Happy shopping You're welcome!

I've been shopping at S & S for quite a few years but I hardly ever shop there any more. WHY?? I would be far to list the reasons to shop there (basically zero) but the #1 reason is probably SELECTION. I've been shopping in Port Chester most of the time though I still go to the WP store as well but the Port Chester store has so many empty shelves that it looks like the height of the pandemic almost 2 yrs ago. The cereal shelf is almost 50% full and it's been that way for months with standards like Shredded Wheat on any large container of Oatmeal OUT. All that are left are the last things that any one wants. v The White Plains store seems to have no problem keeping their shees stocked so what's going on? I looked up the large Tide detergent and they said they had plenty left. I got down there 15 min. later to find NONE left. While it's possible for this seldomly sold item to run out in 15 min. it's highly highly unlikely and this is a frequent occurrence at this store, so frequent in fact that I've had to stop relying on their online info at all. I also get rotten produce maybe 10%-15% of the time I buy any packaged item. I won't buy fish any more and I haven't bought fish in 2 years from the White Plains location. I don't know what's happened to this chain but they've gone so far down hill in the last 3-4 years that they're a complete wash-out and not worth shopping at any more. I hate to say it because there are some good employees there but if I have to drive farther now to shop or pay more, so be it. It's more than worth it, anything is better than having to shop at Shop and Stop. I consider it risking my health to shop there. Really a terrible terrible store in so many ways.

I'm getting more and more frustrated with this location. The last few times I've been here to do my shopping for the week, the cashiers have not been at all pleasant. Fine, I can deal with that- it's nice to have a pleasant cashier but whatever. But they also seem to ring peoples items up and then watch them bag their own items. Last time I was there the girl at the register didn't speak a word to me, and after scanning my items, watched me frantically get my groceries into bags and into my cart. She then started to ring the next person up while I was still standing there bagging my items. Come on. I don't mind assisting the cashier with bagging my items up in order to move things along quicker... in fact, I think that's the right thing to do personally... but since when do I have to bag all my stuff up while the employee stands there and watches me? Things need to change at this location.

Omg!!! Why did I ever go back?! I just purchased Sabrett Hotdogs on Sunday, 10/17 (2 for $7). I Just open up one pack and was hit with a foul smell! the Hotdogs were dripping in a thick heavy slime. Absolutely disgusting! Never will I return to this place. I am reporting them to the Health Department. They won't be happy until they kill someone with out-dated, spoiled foul food. They consistently lower the price on rotten food so they can make a buck while putting our health at risk. Maybe if management reads this, they might want to check isle one. The Turkey pepperoni packages are covered in green mold. I noticed this also on Sunday. I HAVE NO AGENDA, BUT YOU SHOULD SERIOUSLY BE CONCERNED FOR YOUR SAFTY AND THE SAFETY OF YOUR FAMILY. IT'S BLATANTLY OBVIOUSLY THIS PLACE DOESN'T GIVE A SH!T AND THEY WILL POISON SOMEONE WITH ALL THE TAINTED FOOD THEY ARE TRYING TO SELL. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I have complained numerous times from employees throwing my deli meat me at me because they were having a bad day, begin so rude to me in front of my son, to a few employees with their underwear and rear ends sticking blatantly out of their pants! This is so offensive to me and disgusting. Now I find the need to complain about the lack of carriages! Last Sunday at 8:15 a.m. I thought I would get in an early shopping. There was not a carriage to be seen. There were a few of the smaller carriages but that was it. Not nearly large enough for me to do my weekly shopping. I went to the courtesy desk to ask if there were any large carriages. She told me, "No." That's it. So then I asked, "Why are there no carriages? I cannot shop with this little thing." She then said, "They're locked up with a chain on the side of the building." Okay...so now I had to ask, "Are they going to be unlocked and available anytime soon?" She then said, "I don't know." So far...great customer service! I asked again about the carriages and was told, "The guy who unlocks them is not here yet." I then asked when he would be coming in and she said, "I don't know." That was it. Since I had a hectic week ahead I decided to manage somehow to get a few things. By the time I left at 9:00 a.m. those carriages were still locked up. In the store I heard people complaining about the lack of carriages. By the time I left that lot at 9:12 a.m., those carriages were still locked up. This is a Sunday morning!!!! Get with the progam. Add to all this mess, the ailes had nothing but those u-boats everywhere full of items to be put out along with boxes and boxes everywhere. This store is always such a mess making it so difficult for me to want to return. It's a disgrace and a mess. Shelves with dirty towels and some spray bottles left on them. Packages of food opened and left out. Do you have people checking the store at night? Do have anyone working in this store or do they all just walk around with their faces in their cell phones??? This was 8 a.m. in the morning! The week before the store had nothing but empty shelves! It's a disgrace. I took pictures because no one would believe this!!!

I do not recommend this store. Every time I go there, either the shelves are empty, the store is dirty, or like today not a carriage to be seen! It was 8:15 in the morning and they only had out the small carriages. I asked at the courtesy desk where the large carriages were. I was told, "locked up!" I'm sorry....locked up??? I like shopping here, short lines, fewer customer than expected, but the last 3 times I went there there was a horrible body odor of an employee who handles food in the aisles, the stench was sickening to a level that covered entire aisles. Customers were avoiding entire aisles in order to breathe. Last time I went I complained to 2 other employees expressing my health and safety concern regarding food safety especially in these COVID times with the lack of body hygiene. Their reply was surprising : " We know exactly who you're talking about " How can management allow that ?

I would give negative stars if possible. I use scan-it app to be considerate and cruise through the self checkout lane quickly. Love it. Occasionally there is an audit or other issue and you have to wait while the register announces "help is on the way." Annoying, but tolerable. On 1/13/21 3:00-3:30pm, this happened at the register closest to the "assistance" who was physically present but not addressing my issue for 10 minutes. No acknowledgement, no eye contact, even helped another customer before going back to his other work. No eye contact, no acknowledgement, e.g., "sorry I'm jammed, by with you when I can get there," well within ear shot of the register constantly blaring "help is on the way. Thanks a lot -- I will tell every single person I know about the experience in addition to shopping elsewhere. The scan-it convenience was awesome, but not worth this crap.

This place is not good .. produce isn't fresh, meat sometimes has a smell of not being fresh (thawed, frozen, and then thawed again type smell). The place itself is small and cramped and hard to navigate if you have a cart without bumping into something. Very outdated type signage and lighting as well. Take advantage of deals on any canned goods but for fresh food, go somewhere else.

This place is fine if you need something quick. Actually, it's not. We only go here for halo top and it's always one of the three: not completely full, partially melted or just all liquid. Can someone please step up and take care of the food? Thanks

Not sure what the bad reviews are about. We usually shop at the Acme down the road that is closing so decided to check out S&S. The produce section was plentiful with lots of good deals. The two staff I interacted with were chatty and helpful. It's a basic grocery store, and a well stocked one at that.

What a horrible attitude. First & last time here for me. I much rather spend the extra money & go at Traders Joe than come back here . The cashier declined to answer to my question if she was opened & she kept looking at me like I was an alien . The only thing this place has, is the long hours that it operates . It maybe ok for an emergency, but stay away from this place . Corporate / Mamagment seems like you have a problem & it doesn't seem it's just me

I recently went in quickly to buy a couple of cases of seltzer- While waiting on line, a woman who clearly did not speak much English was having trouble paying for her things, and was struggling trying to explain to the cashier. Not only was the cashier ignorant and rude, but she didn't even try to understand her. After chiming in to kind of help the woman out, the payment was finalized and I was finally on my way out. Next, I dropped a case of seltzer; after the box ripped and being pretty embarrassed, I quickly looked up to see if anyone had seen and three employees who were standing at there positions were just staring at me. I don't need someone to run to my side, I don't need encouraging words - but to see that not one but three employees were just standing there waiting for me to do something was not cool. I don't care if you don't like your job, that doesn't mean you can show zero effort.
