I will always be grateful to Bill Slapar and Zack Belles at Peak Performance for helping me bounce back from a devastating knee injury (patellar tendon rupture). To go from planning 10-15 mile bike rides with your kids to MRI, surgery and zero mobility was one of the most challenging experiences of my life. With Bill and Zack's help- along with the rest of the team at PP- I was able to experience clear and steady improvement on a week by week basis. With compassion and great understanding they held me accountable for meeting the recovery goals I'd set- and were the first cheerleaders in my corner, encouraging me not to give up during the many difficult moments. One thing I learned during this experience is that not all physical therapy places are equal- and the best are the best because of the people who work there. Don't hesitate to get help from Peak Performance- truly gifted people and an environment that is very conducive to healing. Thank you!

Diagnosed with a frozen shoulder back in September, I was given a cortisone shot and it was suggested that I could get PT or just do the stretching on my own. I figured that I’d do my own thing and if it didn’t get better I’d reach out for PT work. That same day, I got an email from Peak Performance advertising 20 minute free consultations. I thought perfect, I’ll sign up for one of these and get some feedback. I called and booked a slot for a couple weeks into October. Within an hour, I got a call from Karen who said that she saw the request, but didn’t think it was a good idea to wait for the appointment because it would only prolong the recovery. She ensured me that they had a lot of experience with this injury and it should be address as soon as possible. I was impressed that she reached out to me versus waiting for the consultation appointment.Within a week, I walked into Peak with a very painful shoulder that didn’t allow me to lift my arm above my shoulder nor could I reach behind my back. The shoulder was heading to a frozen state. I met with Mike who gave me a thorough description of what a frozen shoulder is including the different phases and he mapped out a plan to address it with specific goals to show success. I went in twice a week for about a month and each time got more homework as the range of motion improved. I then went in once a week as strengthening became part of the routine. I then thought I was done when I went in one day at the end of December and said the shoulder feels great. Mike went through a series of tests which ultimately showed that I had improved, but I wasn’t where I needed to be. I had been unknowingly “cheating” when doing certain activities. Mike showed me exactly how to see how I was compensating with other parts of my body. I walked out of there feeling a little down, but scheduled another appointment for a month out with a solid homework plan. A couple days later, I got a hand written note in the mail from Mike encouraging me to keep grinding. I was very impressed with the personal touch and it did motivate me. A month later, I went in, got retested and graduated from PT. I left there with a list of stretches and strengthening exercises that Mike said I needed to continue to do get to an optimal state.Great Job Peak Performance! Thank you for helping me get back to “normal”

I’m recovering from a critical illness which left me unable to use my arm and leg muscles. After 6 weeks of inpatient therapy and 8 weeks of in home therapy I came to Peak Performance to continue working on recovering those muscles. My goal is to be able to do all the things I could do before the illness. Now after 8 weeks at Peak Performance I am walking without a cane, doing stairs, driving our truck, lifting and reaching further than ever and so much more. I still have work to do, but I know I’ll get there. The team at Peak Performance is so highly skilled and friendly, it’s a pleasure to go see them 2x per week! I work primarily with Mike and Rachel but do observe the rest of the team, they are all great. Sheila makes scheduling and billing easy, they seem to accommodate everyone’s schedule. You should not hesitate to give them a call!
