Hi All: I have searched a tad not only for a great groomer, but a great groomer on Long Island who does cats. ALAS!!! I've found Alex at the Pet Zone. I was driving down larkfield road in Northport during a lunch break, looked to my left and there it was, a big sign stating PET ZONE: DOG AND CAT GROOMING. On another occasion, I stopped in to get the lay of the land. In the back was owner and groomer, Alex, at work with a white poodle, grooming away. I made an appointment and brought my cat back the following week. His fees aren't exorbitant, but his patience is. During the grooming, we chatted. Alex said he's been at this location since 2004!!!! My cat, Hannah, fidgety during most of it, but basically tolerant, looked beautiful once done. What I love about Alex is that he allows you to stay with your animal during the groom. I was so appreciative of this. I've been to one other groomer ($200!. Never again) who didn't allow me to stay with Hannah. I didn't like that. Another groomer wanted to sedate her. What!!! NOPE!! Next. Another groomer wanted her uptodate on all the vaccinations. While that maybe important in some instances, who cares about that? Just groom my cat. My vet doesn't groom. He only brushes. I NEED HER GROOMED!!! Alex groomed her and clipped her nails. Fifty-five dollars plus tip. One hour later, we were out the door. Now this Pet Zone location isn't pretty. If want that, go somewhere else. If you want a groomer who is pleasant, patient and professional, hang out with Alex!! Hannah, The Beautiful Main Coon, and I did

Alex is kind and patient. I’m not sure how my cat has reacted in the past to grooming. All I do know is I’ve had horrible experiences in the past with places locally. Super expensive and actually hurt him. I would never again just drop my cat off and leave him somewhere for a couple hours. I just think it’s poor pet parenting. Alex lets me hang around and help him by holding my cat and it’s over with in literally 10 or 15 minutes. And as you can see from the photo he does a really wonderful job. I’m reading these reviews and it’s simple. Don’t leave your pet anywhere a few hours. Make time to be there and calm them down so he can do a good job. Alex is awesome. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. He’s patient and he does a good job.

I highly recommend recommend this groomer Alex is a fantastic groomer, loves the dogs always polite always get what you want. Definitely bring your animal here to the groomed!

I am beyond ecstatic about how well my puppies hair cut came out! I have a 9lb Coton-poo who is very particular with his handlers. The man at Pet Zone was extremely friendly and couldn’t have done a better job. Also, very affordable! This man deserves to be tipped very well for his work and his incredible kindness! Alex is the best!!! He fit me in SUPER last minute and stayed late just to take care of my pup. Very good work, friendly and accommodating. Will be traveling from westcHester just to bring my dog to him. Would recommend to everyone who wants their animal in good hands!

First time for our Golden Girl at Pet Zone. Want to say she looks amazing in her new cut and smells delightful! Price was very reasonable too. Thank you for taking care of our "big dog" we will be back.

We brought our dog for grooming after hearing a recommendation from a neighbor. We wanted to try them out, especially because of the convenience of a local shop. Unfortunately, the haircut was poorly done. Our dog's hair was uneven and had no shape. Maybe the groomer rushed through the process. We brought him back to fix what was wrong, but we will have to wait for his hair to grow in. Based on our experience, you'd be better off going elsewhere.

My husband took our Ridgeback puppy here to get his nails clipped and was happy with experience so he suggested I take him there again for a grooming.

If i could rate this place zero stars i would... i was a customer/employee for years, after years of putting up with this chaos of a place iv had enough, i have watched countless customers go through gruesome, tramatic, inhumane expiriences with there animals, wether it be the boss kicking, tugging, screaming at the animals, cutting skin, then yelling at the animals that its there fault for moving, calling the employess horrific names, pathologically lying to customers, the place is filthy, the cages are always disgusting, the tub is filled with feces and hair constantly. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a trustworthy clean grooming place.

I've been going to them with my cockatoo and Maltese since they opened years ago. Have had a pleasant experience each time.
