This was my first time doing hot yoga ever and I’m very disappointed. My friend and i had called in advance and asked about all the details and we had said we have never done it before but we wanted to come to the level 2 class because the time worked better for us. The lady on the phone told us that it didn’t matter if we were new we can come to any level class. We came in around 5:20 for the 5:30-6:30 class with Angela. From the second we walked in she made us feel very uncomfortable and not welcomed. When we had told her we were taking the level 2 class, and she kept pushing it on us that we should be taking the level 1 class for beginners, not knowing my friend and i have done track and cross country for 5 years and was assuming we are out of shape and couldn’t handle a level 2 yoga class. We had brought our own mats and then she had asked if we had a towel and we said no to which then she reluctantly gave us each a towel. She told us to take a spot in the room after we had been sitting on the bench for a quite a while, only giving us a couple minutes before the class started to find a seat giving us no spots left in the room for us, because she didn’t explain what we had to do, as which she knew because we had told her we never have done this before. When we walked in the studio it was packed and i wasn’t sure where to go so i picked a random spot and when she saw me place my mat there she immediately told me to move that i couldn’t be in that spot and said it with an attitude, making me absolutely embarrassed in front of the entire class. She then told the whole class of about 30 people that “we have some new beginners tonight that are taking the level 2 class” and then after she joked about it and said “crazy right” calling us out in front of the whole class, then after the “joke” she made about us, some people laughed. I immediately wanted to get up and leave with the amount of disrespect she was giving my friend and i. She then throughout the class said “do this position, or don’t i don’t care, i get paid either way.” When we came out she wasn’t friendly at all didn’t ask us about our experience or try and make conversation of any sort. When we came in she had told us if we wanted to do the 2 week unlimited package it would be $60 or just this one day with is $20 with a student discount and she said we can complete the class then decide. When we were coming up to pay she didn’t even ask if we were doing the 2 weeks she immediately assumed we were doing just that one day, which we both then did because she clearly was trying to get us to not come back. Very disappointed and it was an awful experience with a very rude instructor. Lots of snarky comments being made towards us, and my friend and i deserve a full refund for this. Also took videos of us during the class without any warning or consent on her personal instagram story. Extremely unprofessional and I will definitely be going to another studio.

Took my first hot yoga class with Angela. I absolutely loved it. Angela was amazing and made me feel a part of. I was very comfortable. The moves the way she spoke encouraged me to not only be able to do the class but I felt empowered when I left. My mind and body felt so renewed. I’m absolutely going back ! Beautiful place and friendly wonderful ladies.

Growing up I learned to appreciate the mental and physical benefits of yoga and kept practicing, but I admittedly stopped for several years. As per recommendation, I went with a friend to a Friday morning class. The instructor immediately misgendered me, which continued even though I repeatedly corrected him. There was no apology either, very strange that a usually progressive environment like a yoga studio has no knowledge or sensitivity of trans/non binary folk. It certainly didn't help that a form you had to fill out (also strange,) only had male and female as an option. I was called back out and was asked in a VERY condescending tone, "You have no experience with yoga, right?" I was appalled. I've been familiar with yoga since age six, despite the fact that I don't have a stereotypical "yoga body." Didn't care for the fat-shaming attitude. Or how in the room there was a Buddha on one end and Ganesh on the other, clearly lacking ideals of which culture they were celebrating. On the way out, my friend and I were given a phony "you did great!" that was literally given to everyone. The class itself was productive so props are given for that, but I shouldn't start class near tears and leave with a sense of inadequacy because a slightly trans exclusionary and fatphobic instructor made me feel poorly. Whether he is truly either of these things is not certain to me but the condescending attitude is quite real. Would not recommend, I deserve better than a conservative yoga studio and so does everybody, including LGBTQIA+ members and people with different body types.

I have never been a yoga person but a friend recommended I try out Andrew's 7 PM Sunday evening class and it was very nice. Something about the space--maybe the lighting and music made for a calm atmosphere. The yoga was gentle and I left feeling at peace. Definitely the best experience with yoga I've had thus far.

Every class is unique and challenging. Never boring (like cardio). Teachers frequently mix their routines to keep you engaged whilst being gentle, helpful and compassionate.
