Fascinating history museum with amazing tours that demonstrate a lot of the old machinery. Super cool preserved mill machines and turbines, I felt transported back in time.

I have been coming here since I was a kid when my grandmother lived around the corner. My brothers and I played in the creek and bought huge jawbreakers in the gift shop. Hanford Mills Museum operates an authentic water- and steam-powered historic site. Hanford Mills' mission is to inspire audiences of all ages to explore connections among energy, technology, natural resources, and entrepreneurship in rural communities, with a focus on sustainable choices.
In season, we offer guided tours of the sawmill, gristmill and woodworking shop.
Hanford Mills Museum is located in East Meredith in the Catskills' Delaware County. Kids 12 and under receive free admission.
