Been going to Pete and Jack's for years. Straight up no nonsense shop who stands behind their word and work . They are very accommodating to your needs and very knowledgeable on both foreign and domestic vehicles. Not many shops around like this any more. They have been my first choice to work on my vehicles for many years.

If you live in the east meadow area, front Street automobile is a good place to have your car fixed! Pete is an honest business man. I brought my daughter's car there and he tracked down the problem. The battery was being drained by something. Another mechanic said it was the battery. It turns out that there was a remote start on the car that we didn't know about and He explained what was needed to me in a respectful way and did not talk down to me. It also turned out that the car needed an alternator. The cost was fair and he didn't price gouge! If you need somewhere to take your car for repairs, take it to front Street auto. Pete will take care of you!

DO NOT GO HERE. I have been taking my car here for years and trusted Pete because he was always honest about my vehicle and all of my old co workers from front street dental went here as well. I move to bayshore and still would drive just to get my car taken care of here. I just went recently and got my breaks done and Petes partner jack told me I need rotors and multiple filters as well I said ok do the rotors not the filters. A few days later I'm driving with my 7 months old baby and my steering wheel locks and I'm now in a dangerous situation with my baby and luckily I was able to pull over. I had to stay on the side of the road with her. I come to find that there was a wire tie around my power steering. There's no way that they didn't place this there. I will not be returning to this place ever and I will inform everyone that I know that goes here and more. This was an extremely dangerous situation I was put in and for what? To make more money off of me. I hope people see this and they lose business because this is ridiculous.

I have been using Pete for over 5 years. And his work & prices were reasonable, but in recent years, the work hasn't been as good. And prices have gone up!! In the past year, I heard that Pete had a partner Jack.. who, is a clown, making jokes about your cars & or services!!! And demanding higher prices that Pete would.. I am tired of paying for batteries over & over when they are new but die cause I don't drive the car every day!!! And, too many excuses for why my classic car had to stay over 4 months cause they couldn't get parts! And when the bill came in, it was a small fortune!! I am looking for a new shop that will take excellent care of my cars and take my personal checks if I want to pay that way!!

I had my benz getting some service done to it where other places charged me more for the same service as the one i got done at jack's. I would definitely recommend anyone to this place.

I had the worst experience with this place. I had to have my car towed to this shop. I needed to replace the engine and radiator. At the beginning they sounded like people you can trust, but in the end they took advantage and I had no other choice but to go to this shop at the time. I got a different price at the end than what originally was showed to me on the estimate, the final price was much higher. I looked at the items and they padded the bill with labor for the oil change, antifreeze flush, transmission fluid change, and other things. Any other place just charges for parts in this case, and labor is a part of the engine change. I know that they worked for about 1 day on my car. I spoke to them around noon about the estimate and they said they would start the work beginning with the engine, and when I called back the next day, they said the car was fully done and ready to be picked up. And my bill came out to over two full days of work plus parts, the brands of which I don't even know because they refused to provide me with them. Very shady and dishonest place. I will never go back to this place, and would never recommend anyone to use their services.

Jack is the most honest auto mechanic person, I have ever met. He has been servicing my Subaru Wagon for 3 years now and I would recommend him to anyone. I drive from Manhattan to Uniondale for all my car service needs. With gratitude, Tom, NYC
