Great assortment of materials including some specialty items not carried by HD and Lowe’s. Staff mixed bag. Many rookies and with such a large inventory it is admittedly difficult for them to know where everything is. Pricing is decent but 20%+/- over big box stores. Bottom line it is always good to purchase from local stores and gas stations even though it might be a little more costly. #buylocal

I have personally worked with JoAnn Lyles the certified Kitchen designer at Riverhead Building Supply. She was very professional, enhanced our kitchen by providing excellent creative ideas and laying it out so we could utilize a small space efficiently . She worked behind the scenes to ensure the job was completed correctly and was responsive to all our questions and ideas. She was truly an invaluable asset to us. The company provides excellent brands with very good quality. Their order operation was seemly and provided the product when we needed it. I can provide a recommendation without reservation. Ask for JoAnn you’ll be very pleased with her services.

Ally Jennosa was very helpful, informative and patient while coordinating our kitchen renovation. I would definitely recommend Ally and RBS to friends and family for their future projects.

Ally was of great help to us. She went way beyond what we expected in helping us purchase pulls(hardware) for our house and helping deliver and install the equipment. She made what we thought would be a difficult task very easy.

I hired them to install Bilko doors for my basement. They lasted 11 months and then one of the two doors fell off. I called them to see if they would come by to resolve the issue. They told me that I would have to give them $150 before they would stop by. I had someone else fix it. The installers did not install the cotter pins correctly and so there was a problem after 11 months.

High quality lumber. Used on a screened porch in East Hampton and couldn’t be happier

I don't mind paying a premium to buy local rather than from Big Box or On Line. However, I resent being ripped off. I bought a $70 router bit from the East Hampton Store. After I opened it, I noticed it had a 1/2" shank. My router can only use a 1/4" shank. I went to return it, and because I had torn the bar code sticker, RBS claimed they couldn't resell it. Of course, the manufacturer would have had no problem sticking a new label on it if RBS would have returned it to them. After checking with the manager, he would refund 50% of cost or I could keep it. Take it or leave it!! I don't know if it was my fault for not noticing the larger shank on the display rack, but I certainly would understand a restocking fee of 10% or so. But 50% or $35 charge for something that would have taken minutes to fix is OUTRAGEOUS. I am upset enough that RBS just lost my business. I have been going to RBS for the past 30 years.

Staff is nice enough but do yourself a favor and CHECK PRICES before you shop here. I'm always willing to pay a little more at a local brick & mortar but this place is consistently overpriced, sometimes wildly so.

I asked them to move the supplies they delivered off the neighbor's water sprinkler. The guy came out today, never rang the bell, was dragging it around and throwing it off to the side, splitting some boxes open. Their driver was very unprofessional and rude.

Beware. After being charged a $60 fee to have someone come to my house to look at a door that was installed, it was a screw that was done incorrectly it took the guy five minutes to fix. Three days later I was charged an additional $75 on my credit card without my authorization without my knowledge and without a receipt. I was never told of any additional charge prior to the work. Watch your backs with this company they don’t know how to do business correctly.

Worst experience I have ever had at a lumber yard. We called to make sure they had our lumber in stock. A staff member told us they could cut the lumber for us no problem. We arrive and it takes us 20 minutes to be helped. When we finally are helped they tell us they cannot cut it for us and we have to use our table saw to cut I ourselves. Not to mention the quality of the lumber was not very high. I suggest only coming here if you are in dire need of the lumber you are looking for.
