This establishment should be avoided unless you desire disappointment , rudeness and dispair.A big rule of retail today more than ever is customer care and to deliver as promised.It's easy for a store owner to sell product at a discount but my experience was they can't deliver as promised.I purchased linens, pillows, towels, accessories for the bathroom and much more at the store. My only requirement , which I agreed to pay an up charge to receive , was for the merchandise to be shipped so that I had delivery of the merchandise on a MUST have basis on a date specific. I was assured it would be done to my requirements. Based on the managers assurances and her understanding and acknowledgment of the time demand , I had placed the order and paid in full.The merchandise was to be in my nyc residence on June 29,2020. But it never arrived. We called the store and was again assured it was shipped priority delivery and assured it would come the next day.Time was of the essence !It didn't arrive but what I did get was listening to the store owner / manager disparage my girlfriend , rudely take no responsibility, not offer any alternative such as having an Uber delivery that same day and breach all codes of business service and respect of a customer. In this case, it was easy for them to over promise and under deliver and cause us, the customer, undue aggravation and precious time.I write this review as a warning that in this instance , this was an awful retail experience .It's easy when there is no stress but a good store owner makes it easy for the customer when things don't go as planned.Avoid this place. Many other places to spend your money this is not one of them !!!

Awful experience!!!! I placed a large order for delivery to NYC and was assured it would be sent UPS ground and delivered by Monday - when I called to follow up I was told that UPS isn't Reliable during this crisis! I have had the opposite experience with UPS over the last 3 months and the store manager was negligent in her follow thru so order wasn't shipped out last Friday. The reason I felt compelled to write this was because of my phone experience when I called to check on UPS tracking information today! Instead of apologizing to me ( the client) the store manager screamed and blamed UPS and the had the order shipped back to the store without consulting me to see if I wanted it delivered tomorrow. I have been shopping there for many years and believe it's h see new management and will never go back! There are many wonderful small businesses in the Hamptons that I always chose to support- Elegant John doesn't deserve to be one.

Lovely store with great prices, something that you would not expect in East Hampton! The staff is terrific. Great pillows.
