I drive over an hour to see them as there are very limited vets that work with exotics in my area, and it's always worth the drive. They're very caring and patiently listen to any concerns I have about my precious babies ? I also genuinely appreciate that they don't try to drain you of every penny and will even suggest less expensive places to obtain supplements/certain treatments rather than pressuring you to purchase it thru them. One of my bunnies requires frequent cleaning with a special solution and they showed me where I could buy a jug of it rather than making me get small bottles thru them.”

“I couldn't have asked for a better Avian vet. My cockatiel was in a freak accident I took him in and they they were so sympathetic. I was greeted by the receptionist who then pointed out the restroom to me as she knew I traveled an 1 1/2. Then she offered me coffee or tea. I spoke with Dr. Hess and he was great. He gave me options and gave me time to think about it. My baby had surgery and I was called as soon as he was done. Other Drs. Took part in his care as well and each updated me every morning. Ideas were tossed around and I was able to bring his cage mate in to maybe help with the whole situation. The reunion was amazing. They kept her overnight with him as well. I've been to a regular vet for my dogs and cat but these exoctic vets are a whole other level. I trust them with all my Parrots and reptiles without a doubt! They are a busy place and unfortunately they do have to turn away people sometimes but they hate doing it but you can only do so much in a day. Get established and get your exotic pets in to be check. It will also make it easier to get in if something horrible happens and they need to been seen!”

He is nervous around new people and the staff here treated him great and made him feel at ease.He had two teeth removed and he’s doing great. They explained everything that was going on pre surgery and post surgery. They were detailed in showing us his x-rays and calling after his x-rays to left us know if his teeth could be saved or not.I’m very glad I was referred to Dr. Hanson!”

He caught an early heart murmur in one of them and we were able to get him on early medication to prolong his life. He has a great relationship with the dogs by having a calm vibe and always has treats on hand to make sure the dogs have the best experience possible in what can be a stressful time.The parking isn't the best due to the location, but that's not on the Dr.”

“Drove and hr and 26 mins to get to them after calling 14 vets they were the only one who was willing to see my son's new very sick bunny and made time for her and seen her during their lunch break instead of keeping her for half a day after learning i had to drive that far to have her seen. They were super friendly and quickly found out it was brain parasites and gave her her medicines first dose in office showing me how to and told me to call or text if I have any concerns thanks to their willingness to take her last minute she will live and has a chance to make a full recovery!”

I have been to 4 different veterinary clinics in both Amherst and the southtowns trying to find a good fit. I have found it! My dog, Hazel, got an ovary sparing spay and also her umbilical hernia fixed. I was able to see the OR which is immaculate.The surgery went very well and Hazel showed no signs of pain. She healed up very nicely. I will be transferring her care and my cats care to Dr. Stein. In my years as an animal lover I have never been able to find a vet who was consistent and took their time with me and my animals…rest assured I have found this in ASAH!”

Dr. Wishko personally calls with blood work test results and talks through next steps and options and is happy to answer any questions. Their online portal is helpful for scheduling and the front desk staff are great. As my dog gets older, I’m glad we are at this vet to help keep her healthy and live longer.”
