Originally, I was given Gerry's service as a recommendation from the Rochester British Car Club. After contacting them, Bruce, the main service assistant, gave me a rough estimate of the process and timing for solving an inoperable engine issue. They're a very busy shop so it took longer to get in than I had planned, but they were able to schedule the initial checkup within three weeks. After the checkup, which took a day, they identified the carbs as the root cause and wanted to rebuild them. The estimate for that work was way more than I was hoping for, but I understood the work involved and the hourly rate and it made sense to have them do the work, it's why I was there in the first place.
After they performed the rebuild, the engine now runs like it supposed to, which was such a relief, as I had spent many hours trying to determine the issue myself, to no avail.
Would I recommend Gerry's to others? Yes I would, but as with any quality service these days, the time and hours are going to add up to a significant amount, but was exactly what he estimated. Thanks guys!
Ps... the only reason I gave them 4-stars was the long timeline and the fact that they didn't keep my car as well protected from the weather as I had expected (although in fairness, I'm not totally sure what they did, but it had leaves and debris in it- Roadster no top)

The service was quick and done very well. The staff was cordial and asked if anything needed to addressed other than the items I pointed out initially. Bruce is a highly skilled master mechanic.

$175 Diagnostic fee
I towed vehicle there. They said $190.23 was the initial quote to repair a leaky transmission line. $1920 was then the revised estimate to replace a transmission cooling system because the line connectors were corroded where they met the cooling system. I said no and they charged me $175 before I towed it again to the dealership. The dealership performed the work for much less without touching the cooling system.
Gerry's essentially had a $15 incentive to perform the labor if the $190 quote was never revised to $1,920. I don't understand that.
Another note: Brie is extremely polite and knowledgeable for a receptionist. Bruce is knowledgeable. I will add a star for her.

Great automotive repair facility, especally for my classic British car.
Bruce, who knows the quirks of Leyland producd vehicles was helpful and friendy - always mindful of balancing need vs pricing.
Highly reccommend this business.

We had the oil changed, car inspected, brakes adjusted and air conditioning repaired at Gerry's Services. They did an absolute great job on all of it. They inspected it and told us exactly what was wrong with an estimate of the time and cost to repair it. The car was fixed on time and less than their estimate. Great nob!

Very nice people. I needed an inspection done and I wanted to book an appointment since Im not a fan of the common “first come first serve” system. They happily booked me in about three weeks out which worked for me. They informed me that my brake pads and rotors barely passed inspection and they will need to be replaced pretty soon. They offered me a quote but I felt their prices were a bit high so I declined. It did take almost all day for the inspection to be complete, I didn’t mind, but I’d suggest planning your time accordingly.

Bruce is extremely knowledgeable and professional with his analysis and even provides budgetary pricing in advance to my repairs. I have a Toyota Avalon with 160,000 miles and have had some electrical issues lately. Bruce and his team were able to diagnose the issues and order the parts quickly so the service was completed in less than a day. His staff is professional and courteous and I would recommend Gerry's service to anyone looking for an honest, price competitive and experienced service shop.
