I had an appointment with Alex. I was BEYOND disappointed. She smelled like weed, she was sick, dropping things, unprofessional and my beach waves look like I just woke up. The wedding I was supposed to be at I made just on time because I had to go home and do my hair over. For my 1st time in the salon I’d give it a 1/10 or at least my service with Alex was absolutely horrific!!

I have been there two times and had my hair washed, cut, and styled by Kim. Clean, friendly and professional. Kim takes the time to listen to what you want done, whether it will work with your hair type and then give you an awesome style. Glad I found Curl Up and Dye. Prices are very reasonable.

Got whites/roots touched up. Only about half of the length of the white hairs are dyed, it looks pretty hilarious. Salon is dimly lit for good reason. Had a splotches border of dye framing my forhead/facial skin around my face when I got home- I've never had that happen before. They charge top of the line prices, and I looked like a walking joke.

Would not recommend this salon to anyone with textured hair. Had the bride confirm that someone from the salon would be able to work with thicker hair before submitting payment which they said they had experience with. When it was my turn for hair - I received no heat in my hair at all (even though the straighter and curler were plugged in right in front of me) the only thing that was done was sticking a million Bobby pins in my hair and leaving 2 humps at the top. I was very upset when everyone else in the bridal party received different treatment and I didn’t even get gel put in my hair. I was able to fix my hair for the ceremony but I’m begging stylists everywhere to please educate yourself on how to handle different types of hair especially for well paying customers.

I didn't get my hair poofed, didn't get my nails done pretty, and didn't get my toes flossed but I did go because Kayla is one of the best barbers in WNY! She knows exactly what she's doing and out does herself each visit. This place has a very calming and welcoming environment on top of that and will be back soon.Service: Haircut

My 1st visit was great. Loved my cut & color by Kim. Went to my appointment today for cut & color touch up and they gave my appointment to someone else and blamed it on the stylist out on maternity leave. Vicki was so nasty and would not honor my appointment. Never going back there. Below is my appointment written by Kim on the back of their business card. I lost time at work for this appointment i made 5 weeks ago. It would of been nice if they called first and told me they were canceling my appointment.Service: Haircut

As a highly-satisfied customer of Curl Up & Dye for almost 12 years, I am leaving a review to rebut the absurd review left by Allyson Youdsavage. I was actually present in the salon August 3 when this person came in at 3:30 pm. From my position in one of the color chairs, I observed and heard all that transpired. I was absolutely astonished by this reviewer's discourteous, unreasonable behavior.Firstly, the salon operates with a computerized appointment and reminder system. If an appointment is not entered into the system, other staff have no way of knowing said appointment exists. Since this reviewer had a previous appointment at the salon, she ought to have questioned the fact that she did not receive an appointment confirmation/reminder via email or text message as usual.Secondly, no one "blamed" the stylist out on maternity leave for anything. It was suggested that perhaps she forgot to enter the appointment into the computer system, but that there was no way to confirm this since she is out on maternity leave.Bottom line: a mistake was made and mistakes do unfortunately occur no matter how professional the business establishment. As a long-time client, I can attest to the fact that Curl Up & Dye is operated under the highest standards possible. As I observed and listened to this encounter, I was confounded when Allyson Youdsavage refused to be reasonable when it was courteously explained to her that her appointment was not present in the system, and that with only 2 fully-booked stylists in the salon, it was impossible to accommodate her at the promised time. Vicki was at no time "nasty" during this encounter. Rather, she was profusely apologetic and tried to work with this person to accommodate her at another time. Instead, Allyson Youdsavage stubbornly (and irately) insisted that she had an appointment and that someone else's appointment should be cancelled to allow her to receive service at the present time. Though Vicki was at all times professional and sincerely apologetic while explaining to her that it was impossible as she and the other stylist present had clients to whom they were in the process of applying color, Allyson Youdsavage doggedly insisted that she be taken care of. Is it fair that she took time off work for this appointment only to discover the appointment had never actually been secured? Of course it is not fair. Would I have been frustrated and disappointed in her position? Absolutely. However, disappointment cannot supplant reason. I am quite certain Allyson Youdsavage has made at least one mistake in her life that inconvenienced or hurt another. I am certain of this because she is a fallible being, as are we all. Mistakes are, after all, unintentional.Allyson Youdsavage could not - or would not - accept that it is impossible for a person to be in two places simultaneously, and, to my knowledge, neither Vicki nor the other stylist have the ability to alter the laws of physics to make such a thing occur. When Allyson Youdsavage continued insisting that she be served then and there - despite the impossibility - Vicki had to firmly (but still apologetically) tell her it could not be done. Allyson Youdsavage then stormed off while saying she would never return and that she would leave a negative review. Clearly, she has been true to her word on the second part.I have taken the time to offer this rebuttal as a third-party observer of what occurred so that one disgruntled individual does not have undue affect on this business. Curl Up & Dye is a wonderful salon staffed by kind, courteous and highly-skilled stylists. In my many years as a client, I have not once witnessed lack of caring or professionalism in Vicki or any stylist employed there. I always leave the salon fully satisfied with my hair, and pleased to have been in the presence of such lovely people. I cannot recommend Curl Up & Dye highly enough.Services: Haircut
