“This Save-A-Lot is unusual to say the least. Sometimes it has the feel of a market place in Mexico, the on-site meat cutters have a good selection of meats, including some you might not find in other grocery stores, both in animal and cut. This is a good place for pig's feet, beef tongue, I get pork butts there when they have good deals. Mexican and Caribbean produce is also right up front just as you walk through the door, I like that walking into a produce market feel. The rest of the place is just a clean, well-stocked, grocery store. It's small and the staff have always been nothing but nice to me. Bring your own bags or boxes.”
“Every Single time I shop at Dunkirk Big Lots is a pleasant experience. The store manager Gary is amazing. His employees are just so wonderful. They are gracious and courteous. Everyone there is helpful and happy to be there.”

“The employees at the Dollar general on 4th Street in dunkirk are awesome people. Today (12/27/21) approximately around 3pm I went to get groceries and my gift card wouldn't work. I got discouraged and was going to leave when the manager Doreen told me she would take care of it along with a customer. I'm beyond thankful for these people. They don't even have to but they make sure we leave with everything we need regardless. For them to spend their own money on people they don't even know is beyond a blessing. I'll continue to give them my service because you don't find that ANYWHERE these days. I hope they are recognized for what they did for me today. I know I'll never forget them as long as I live.”

“Because of past experiences, I'm not a big fan of refurbished products and Ollie's does sell these things. I don't feel like this because of anything I purchased at Ollie's though because I have bought a few refurbished items from there. What I like about Ollie's is that the prices on most of the things they sell are priced at or better than most of the area stores. The one thing Ollie's has over all of those other businesses is their book department. Some say that reading a book is an outdated activity and that anything that you can find in a book can be found online-usually at a lower cost if not free. Ollie's is the closest thing to a bookstore at the D&F Plaza since the Book Nook closed its doors for good in 2017 it 2018 maybe? None of the the reading material I find online can compare to the physical feel, smell and sound of the pages being turned of a good book whether it's a textbook or a piece of fiction. So for me, it is the selection of reading material along with the reasonable prices on most items offered that keeps me returning to Ollie's to do my shopping.”
