We had some engine troubles down at Saverne and a lovely gentleman from here came and offered us help the best he could. He was absolutely wonderful and took the time out of his day to check and even called his boss to see if he had any suggestions that. If I were to go to any marine company I would highly recommend them for their lovely and outgoing employees. Thank you to whoever this gentleman was.

OSM moved a Shoremaster 4000 pound capacity boat lift from the Keuka Lake shore to a location off the lake for storage. They arrived at the day and time indicated with excellent equipment and knowledge. I highly recommend this business and the owners.

For Kim: I am updating this review to provide a more “complete story”.I had OSM winterize one of my boats for many years. I got to know and trust their mechanic. As Kim points out in her response, I had significant repairs done in 2014 and was satisfied with the work. I took my boat back to OSM in 2015 because the engine was running very rough and stalling frequently. When I arrived, I found out that their old mechanic was no longer working at OSM. I expressed my concern about who might be working on my boat in his absence. The owner said he would be doing it himself and he was quite familiar with engine repairs. As Kim mentions below, the boat was acting like it was “starved for gas”. This general statement turned out to be correct but OSM had no idea why. OSM replaced the fuel pump, rebuilt the carburetor, etc... but none of these solved the problem. I wasn’t more than 100 yards from the Severne boat launch when the boat started acting the same. I called your business immediately and explained that the engine was experiencing the same problems - after I spent $768. OSM’s only offer was that I could bring the boat back to OSM and they would continue to work on it. I asked about compensation for money already spent and nothing was offered. I was told that any additional work would be “best effort”. I clearly wasn’t going to continue paying OSM to take stabs in the dark at fixing the problem. I asked if you had the phone # to your old mechanic and to OSM’s credit, you did provided his contact info.I took the boat to OSM’s old mechanic a week later (not years later) and he diagnosed that there was water in the gas tank, based on my description of the problem. He quickly verified this by siphoning out the water and that is what fixed the problem. The reason the boat was “starved for gas” was there was water in the tank. The old mechanic said this is a very common problem and his fee was quite reasonable to solve the problem. If OSM had the experience to look for this, it would have saved me >$600.I have continued to use OSM’s old mechanic for boat repairs and have been very happy with his diagnostic and repair skills.Kim, you are correct that I should have posted this feedback on-line shortly after it happened. It slipped my mind the time. I am posting it now as I do think others should learn from my experience. I do hope you have hired aa capable mechanic since 2015.————- Original Post —————-Several years ago I brought a ski boat with a 140hp mercruiser I/O to OSM for repair as the engine was not running well. Their mechanic had recently left the company but the owner of OSM assured me he could fix the problem. I was charged $900 for a variety of repairs, including rebuilding the carb. When the boat was put back in the water, it quickly became clear that all efforts to repair were unsuccessful. When I mentioned this to the owner of OSM, he said the engine started and ran offshore. He offered to continue working on the problem - at my expense. No refund was made. Not even a compromise.I found his old mechanic and he quickly diagnosed the problem as water in the gas - based on symptoms. He siphoned water out of the gas tank and that fixed the problem.OSM may have hired another capable mechanic since this happened, but I won’t be giving them any more business based on how they handled the experience described above.Service: Engine repair

The folks at OSM have taken care of my Whaler for 7 years - store, clean, winterize/summerize/engine oil alarm repair. They sourced a boat lift, built a permanent roof for it, and extended my dock. Terrific work at fair price and treated like a valued customer. They earned my business.

If you like friendly people and a fair price this is your place! As a new to us boat owner, I was nervous about finding a trusted business to work with for maintenance and service. I know very little about boats ...just the acronym B.O.A.T. and the horror stories people have about how much they sunk into their boats. So, I was a bit apprehensive...that feeling quickly subsided. Mark and Kim wanted to measure my boat for a (new to us) lift they were transporting and installing. I asked if they had a tarp, because my old canvass top had some rips in it and it was supposed to rain the next several days. They pulled it under an overhang and REFUSED to accept additional money. This behavior is rare in today's time and especially in an area like boating, when many businesses see dollar signs before they see customers!! Super impressed. They delivered the lift to our property without an issue. The crew was friendly and pleasant. I actually just called and set up an appointment for my boat to be "Summerized" so it's ready to go as soon as we drop it in this season. Businesses like this, just get it! I plan on using them for an boat, dock, and lift questions, service and installation needs moving forward. They have won my confidence and earned a customer for life. Top notch business, period.

Purchased some boat lift extended legs a few years ago and repaired my hydraulic pump this past summer. They are a little fickle, don't want to take credit card payments, and wouldn't even provide me an quote on a $5k canopy because I mentioned I was going to get another quote, and not great at returning phone calls as they pass you around to different employees based on what you're asking. They also really don't know their stuff, they told me, twice, I couldn't get a canopy for my lift due to my application. But called the manufacturer directly and they assured me it would work and gave me all the part numbers. EDIT - Ok OSM called the other dealer that I was getting a quote from and told them that she would not bid and basically telling them to quote me retail price!!!! Unbelievable!! This is way Un-American, do not give these people your business!!!!!
