Nbt bank closed my account & charged me $50 in fees without notification and during the pandemic. Opened an account in 2020 and only ever received a debit card in the mail. Their hours of course are horrendous if you work full time & have children. Hard to get around those hours. Didn’t think I needed to worry about it. Turns out they charge you for not touching your money. Unlike other banks that want you to keep your money in their bank, turns out they CHARGE you $10 a month for inactivity. I’m VERY glad that I did not put more into this account to open. This was supposed to be an emergency very small nest egg but turns out NBT really “needed” my money. No apology was given at the Duanesburg branch & I could hear two tellers talking about me within earshot. 100% unprofessional
