I’ve held back on writing this but my wife finally pushed me too. We’ve had one of the worst experiences in a retail environment. The manager an older heavier man I think his name was mike belittles his staff right in front of customers, yelling at them, threatening them, talking down to them. I used to love going to this store in the past I’ve worked with a zack, vinny or a james. The reason for the bad review is the way your managers are treating your staff your employees were amazing and should be given raises. Your employee vinny used to help me tremendously when I’d come into the store, I always looked for him and his personality always had an upbeat attitude about him, treated me with respect and kindness, always helped me in the store even when I was going through a bad day he found a way to brighten my day and had great recommendations, I recently came back Saturday to work with Vinny to find your manager Mike let him go, with that being said I will no longer shop at a Costello’s hardware store going forward when you hire managers that treat their staff and customers the way he does this manager should be removed from employment, and the way he has treated and talked to my wife and the vulgarity is appalling. The time we came in during the weekday the manager Mike was talking to this older employee I think Frank was his name about his playbo collection. When we first came in on the weekend and Mike was not there and we were treated with such kindness and respect and dignity we decided to keep coming back to the store. You should not have people like this running your stores and then removing staff that actually treated customers with dignity.I truly hope the Costello’s will learn to hire people that respect customers like Vinny, zack and James did.Have a great day you’ve lost our business for good.

I always choose this location for key-making needs for my job. I find that the staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful. I wish I took down the names of all the guys who helped make keys. Thank you!

They have finally achieved what seems to be there goal I will never go back to the West Islip store ever again. There customer service is atrocious the worst offender is the store manager. Although it is extremely close to my home I haven't left there not annoyed in the longest time and getting keys made there forget about It stopped a longtime ago not one ever worked
